Tyler gets up and grabs us popcorn and apple juice and we stop leaning into him. We watch all of the fast and furious movies and it is really late when Tyler and I finally go home. I walk into the house and Sam is there sitting at the counter looking at a bunch of papers. I go and stand by him. "What are you doing?"

"Looking over some floor plans."

"Is that what you do now?"

"Yeah, I actually started a few weeks before you left." I lean on the counter to the right of him and look at the plans. "What are you trying to figure out?"

"If this plan will work out or not."

"It looks like it will work fine. What are you looking for?"

"Nothing. It doesn't matter. Let's go to bed." I nod and walk upstairs with him following me. I go to the guest bedroom door and say goodnight. He says goodnight and we go into separate rooms. I change into pajamas and lay in the bed. I fall asleep and wake up at 5 in the morning. I groan and get out of bed. I shower in the en suite bathroom and change into skinny jeans and a camouflage t-shirt. I go out into the kitchen and sit at the counter, drinking a glass of ice water. After an hour or so Sam walks down the stairs and gathers his papers. "Good morning."

"Morning."

"Going to work?"

"Yeah. I'll be back later, at like 5."

"Okay." I nod and put my glass in the sink. I go and grab my phone to text Brittany. What are you doing?

Her: sleeping. shut up. I laugh and put my phone on the counter. I sit there for a minute and grab my phone and go outside to my car. I drive around and go to the mall. I wander around in boredom, saying hi to other people I know. I get some lunch and drive to the army headquarters. I say hi to the solider at the desk and ask if my dad is in or not. "Yeah, he is in his office. Go on in."

"Thanks." I smile at him and go knock on my dad's office door. "Come in." I open the door at the sound of my dad's voice and see Colton is in there as well. "Hey dad. Hey Colton."

"Jo? What are you doing here?"
