Violet has some friends over to dinner at her house.
She asks me to come.
I go.
The food is delicious.
I have a second helping.
For the first time in months. The people almost spoil it.
I hate that they're here.
Nina, Cody, Kelsie, Finn, Lucas, and Reece.
Violet invited Reece for me.
I don't know why.
He's just my tutor.
As they put in a movie downstairs, I say I have to go to the bathroom.
I walk upstairs and see Violet's mom sitting there.
"How are you doing, Cait," she asks.
"Fine, thanks," I say, "how are you?"
She lets out a sigh. She's stressed.
This is not something the normal Mrs. Despain would do.Mrs. Despain was my second grade teacher. That's how Violet and I became friends.
I sit and talk to her.
She's great to talk to.
I almost tell her everything.
Almost.
Instead I go home and write her a letter.
Mrs. Despain,
Will you please try and make it to my funeral? It will be near the end of December of this year.R.S.V.P. to my mother.

CaitlynP.S. Thank you for raising Violet so well.
