I met Reece in the library so he could fill me in exactly what conic degenerates were.

"Alright," Reece said, "if I have (x-2)^2 + (y+8)^2=36, what is the center and the radius?"

"Um, I am not sure," I started, "is the center (-2, 8)?"

"Close," Reece said, "but no cigar. It's actually (2, -8). You just forgot to switch the signs."

We spent an hour working on my math assignment.

After we finished, we went to pick books out for each other.
It had become an tradition of ours.

I grabbed Reece a copy of Anne of Green Gables.
Reece picked a copy of The Book Thief.

As we checked out, I told him there had to be something I could do for him to thank him for all the help he'd given me.

"Go out with me," Reece said, "this Saturday."

I was speechless.

I had decided early on that I wanted to minimize damage.
Going out with Reece
Would be the opposite
Of pushing him away.

"Sure," I smiled.

"Finally," Mrs. Hansen, the librarian, said, "I've been watching you two come here for months. Finally, the ship has sailed."

Mrs. Hansen,
Will you please try and make it to my funeral? It will be near the end of December of this year.

R.S.V.P. to my mother.

Goodbye,
Caitlyn

P.S. Thanks for the support, but Reece and I are NOT a couple.
