I don't know why,
But I went to church again with Natalie.

Mom didn't come.

The Widow Hodson was there.
She came with her granddaughter.

Her granddaughter is in college.
Her name is Caroline.

She sang "Come Thou Fount" as part of the service.

It was beautiful.

After church, the Widow Hodson invited Natalie and I to come to her house.

We visited with her and Caroline.

Caroline told us about college.
She asked where we wanted to go.

I said I don't know.

I didn't tell her that I wouldn't be going at all.

When we were little,
Caroline would visit the Widow Hodson at least once a month.
We would always play together.

I realized now, that as children,
Whenever we played games,
We pretended to grow up.

I guess for me, it will always just be pretend.

I wrote Caroline a letter, for old times sake.

Caroline,
Will you please try and make it to my funeral? It will be near the end of December of this year.

R.S.V.P. to my mother.

Goodbye,
Caitlyn

P.S. I miss when we were little.
We used to have so much fun.
P.P.S. You sing beautifully.
