Chapter 16
My eyes began to flutter open as light clouded my vision, then I began to see a white ceiling. I heard a faint beeping sound. My head was pounding in pain. I lifted my arm to touch my head, but pain ran along the bottom side of my right arm and my chest.
A small gasp from the pain escaped my lips.
“Nina, don’t move.” A nurse yells at me, running to my side and putting my arm to my side. “You are severely injured. You need to rest.”
“Tha… that b-bastard.” I mumble, hardly able to make the words come out.
“Did the Akatsuki member do this to you?” This nurse asks.
“Yes.” I reply softly, closing my eyes to try and calm down.
“Did he say anything to you?”
“No.” I lie. “What happened to Lord Kazekage?” I ask.
“They took him.” She says with a sad sigh. “We have sent a letter to you the Hidden Leaf for help.”
“I see. How long will I be in the hospital for?” I ask.
“With the condition you are in, it could be a week.”
“I see.” I say. “When did you send the letter to the Leaf Village?” I ask.
“Two days ago.” She replies.
“So I give it they will be here tomorrow.”
“More than likely.” She says.
“Good. I will be going with them to save…”
“You’re not going anywhere.” The nurse yells.
“Excuse me?!” I yell, sitting up in bed, pain over filling my body and screams left my mouth.
“Nina, please lie down. I’m going to need a syringe!!!” She yells.
“Don’t touch me.” I yell, throwing blankets off of me and seeing the bandages around my chest and stomach and arms.”
“Nina you need to lay down.”
“I’m an S-rank criminal. I don’t need to listen to you!” I yell.
“You were one. But not anymore. So please, just calm down.” She pleaded.
I just pushed myself to walk, opened the window and jumped out. When I hit the ground, I nearly fell, but maintained to keep my balance. Once I regained my stance and stood up, I began to wobbly sprint towards the place I was staying at. A small apartment.
When I got to the apartments, I collapsed on my bed to catch my breathe. After a few minutes of laying on the bed, I got up, and went to my dresser, pulling out a pair of caprice and a shirt. I slid them on quickly, being careful when going around the bandages.
I grabbed my small bag and hooked it to my belt. I walked out my front door and began to wander the village. I needed to come up with a plan to get to Gaara and help save him.

“Nina, why did you leave the hospital early?” Temari asks, sitting on a bench in the hospital with me.
“I couldn’t handle it. The nurse was yelling at me.” I say, giggling softly to myself.
“So you took off? Weren’t you in pain?”
“Of course I was in pain. I just ignored it.” I say.
She smiled and laughed at how stubborn I could be. “So how’s Kankuro doing?” I ask.
