Chapter 56

Storm's POV:

"Great prom right? Riding home in a cab." Sylvia joked.

"Oh yea. Fantastic." I giggled. We neared the club and you could see sirens in the dark night.

"Uh ladies is this the right place?" The cab driver asked slowing down.

"No. Sorry it's the Gallaway apartments." Sylvia said. I went to say something but she shot me a warning look. I reclined back into the seat nodding my head and the cab driver went down the street further.

Once we got to Ace's pad I paid the driver and looked down the street slightly hearing the sirens.

"Syl we have to go see what is going on." I said as we got into the elevator. She pressed our floor and sighed.

"Storm are you crazy? Police and ambulances are crawling the place. If we go there then we will get caught."

"But if they find out where Ace lives and we are here then we are still caught." I said and she sighed running a hand through her hair.

"Andrew can get them out of it. Let's just stay here." She said as we stepped onto our floor. She turned back to look at me.

"Please Storm." She begged. I nodded and stepped out of the closing doors and towards the pad. I put on the security system and got changed out of my dress. I pulled on a pair of leggings and a sweater with some fuzzy socks. I walked out to where Sylvia was as she texted feverishly on her phone.

"Who are you texting?" I asked.

"Brandon, apparently Richie came back ." She said and I frowned.

"So how will that attract the police?" I asked.

"Blake got hurt." She said and my heart stopped for an instant.

"Is Ace okay?" I asked.

"They are down at the police station working things out." She said.

"So they aren't getting charged or arrested?" I asked.

"Yea but Andrew is going down there along with Stephen."

"My dad? What is he doing?" I asked uncomfortably. She laughed throwing her head back slightly.

"The chief of police is Stephen's brother." She smirked.

"How the fuck is the chief of police my real dads' brother?" I asked confused.

"Storm we have connections all over the place." She said.

"So what about Blake?" I asked and her smile faltered.

"Brandon says it is not looking good. He was in the front when they ambushed him. He lost a lot of blood." She said sadly.

"H-he will be alright though?" I asked worriedly.

"I don't know..." She said. I sighed leaning against the island counter.

"Brandon says they should be home soon." She said. I glanced at my watch and sighed.

"So much for Ace's birthday." I muttered. It was midnight and she smiled assuringly.

"I'm sure you guys can do something tomorrow evening...or tonight?" She joked making me crack a smile.

"The good news is, is that Richie is back in jail, he doesn't have the connections we have."

"That's reassuring." I said and she nodded.

"Hopefully they do his sentencing right for once."
