Chapter 54:

Storm's POV:

I flipped aimlessly through the plastic bags containing gorgeous Sherri Hill dresses. They were all beautiful and I was having difficulty finding the one.

Ace must have been getting bored because he was glued to his phone lazily. I sighed and walked over to him and he looked up.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"I can't find anything. I'm tired." I said and he frowned.

"We are not going anywhere until you find a dress." He said determined as he stood up. He walked over to the dresses and studied all of them intensely. He picked out two dresses, a white one and a pale blue satin one.

"White?" I asked and he nodded.

"You are my innocent little angel." He whispered pressing a kiss to my temple. I rolled my eyes and walked to the dressing room sliding on the white one first. I stepped out and looked in the mirror. I looked like a goddess sure...but was it prom?

"What do you think?" I asked turning.

"You look beautiful as always." He said and I rolled my eyes playfully.

"You always say that!" I teased. I went back in and pulled on the satin blue dress and stepped out. I smiled and met Ace's eyes in the mirror.

"That looks better on you." He smiled and I nodded.

"This one is the perfect one." I smiled. I took off the dress as Ace paid for it and then we had to go shoe shopping. I groaned as I scanned the heels on the racks.

"What colour are you going with?"

"White." I said picking up a pair of white pumps.

"Done." I said simply grabbing a size seven and making my way to the cashier. Ace paid for it again and then we had to make a trip to the gentlemen's store.

The array of ties laid on the table arranging from all different colours. I found a satin blue tie to match my dress and I held it up to him.

"Can I wear my all black suit with that?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"If you want too, you can." I said and he nodded.

"Alright. Let's head home. I'm starving." He said snatching the cloth. The ride home was nice as we talked aimlessly and when we got in a woman with short blond hair had her back turned to us in the kitchen.

"Mom?" Ace asked confused. The woman turned and her grey eyes lit up.

"Oh my little boy!" She gushed walking over. She hugged Ace to her chest and he smiled at me sheepishly.

"I heard what happened with Richie and I feared the worst. Are you alright?" She asked.

"I was shot." He shrugged and she frowned hitting his shoulder.

"Oww that's the shoulder where I got shot." He winced.

"Ace Steele Rivers... I told you that if you want to do this life you have to be careful!" She scolded.

"Mom I can't control being shot or not." He said and she shook her head turning her attention to me.

"This isn't Georgina? She is much more beautiful and down to Earth looking." She said.

Burn...

"My name is Storm. It's nice to meet you Ms. Rivers." I smiled and shook her hand.

"Please, call me Josie." She assured and I nodded.

"Storm...That is a beautiful name." She smiled and I looked down.

"Thank you."

"I started dinner, has Storm been staying with you?" She asked and her eyes landed on the necklace dangling in my chest.

"Oh, Ace." She whispered happily. She lightly touched the pendent and smiled.

"This is your perfect girl." She noted and my eyes went wide as Ace looked away.

"Mother..." He grunted quietly.

"Ace I hope you are practicing safe sex." She warned.

"If that involves spanking then no." I muttered.

"Spanking!?" She shrieked and Ace held up his hands and wrapped an arm around my shoulder.

"S-she doesn't know what she is saying, she's starving...delusional." He said quickly.

"Oh well come get something to eat when you are done settling in." She smiled going back to the kitchen,

----

"Surprise visit from mommy?" I asked dropping the bags on my bed.

"My mother likes to check in on me and my adventures." He said.

"What did she mean about my necklace?" I asked curiously and his eyes met mine briefly.

"Oh nothing just about how I actually put time and effort into you." He said lying straight through his teeth.

I looked down and did not press further.

"My mother knows how I like to play with my girls she knows I'm your daddy now." He grinned mischievously.
