"You always kept them hidden behind your bangs, I kept pinning them back so I could see your amazing eyes."

After they woke up Monday and had gone to school. Sam had trailed behind Aki everywhere making sure his bruise wasn't bugging him. They had gotten back to Aki's apartment and we're talking about something that got Aki laughing. Sam didn't know why he found it funny, but his smile was sincere, his laugh was full, Sam just stared at him with a content smile on his face while the male across from him calmed himself.
They had finished the pizza from the day before and Sam had grabbed a snack later on in the evening before joining Aki on the couch. He was watching the news till Sam stole the remote and changed it to some random show Aki'd never heard of. The brunet tried to explain it, but gave up when something happened in the show and his attention was fully devoted to the show.
Sam had curled up on what was now his side of the bed talking to the girls in the group chat when Aki came in the room from some phone call and sat on his side of the bed. They made small talk before going to sleep.
So how these living arrangements seemed completely normal to Sam. Like this is how it was supposed to be.

The next morning Sam woke up first, again leaning against Aki but not on him like the day before. He stayed there for a while enjoying the closeness they had. He still didn't know what they were but it was better than he'd hoped. He'd closed his eyes again. It felt like a few minutes had passed but he opened his eyes at the feel of fingers running through his hair.
"Morning." He said smiling at Aki.
"Morning."
Both had gotten up a few minutes later. Aki had changed second and met Sam in the kitchen.
"So Cassie invited me over for the night on Wednesday so I won't be here." Sam told him munching on his cereal.
"Sounds like fun." Aki said, Sam nodded.
Aki figured it would be best not to tell him that he had a job Wednesday night. He might not enjoy his hang out with his friends if he did tell him.
Other than that it was a normal Tuesday. Sam seemed to be a lot better. In general he was happier and more goofy like when they'd first met. He figured that was a good sign. Aki had skipped lunch and Sam had found him out under a tree instead of in the stairwell. The day just carried on as usual. They got home. Sam did his homework while Aki hid away in a room Sam had hardly noticed till Aki went in it. Everything was peaceful and calm and like it should be. At least in Sam's mind.

Wednesday came, Sam had woken up first again this time he figured he'd wake Aki up with him. Moving up so he was right above Aki he leaned down and sweetly kissed his lips. At first there was no reaction. Then there was a little movement, and then a hand cupping his neck at the base of his head.
Looking down at the male after it broke, he smiled at the two eyes staring back at him. The blue was like the sky. The auburn was like the mountains or fall leaves.
