"It was scary, it was painful."

He needed it to be night. Things were easier when you could hide more than this. Daylight was not helpful.
Aki made his way to the warehouse filled part of the city. Gordon had made some kind of threat that he apparently needed to take care of. The company was pissed at him for not taking care of this sooner.
When he got to one corner he paused. Something wasn't right. He was walking right into something. Glad he could feel the cold metal in his waist band and in his hand, he took the chance and came around the corner. He was right.
"Zero!" A man said from the bed of the truck ahead. "I'm honored they sent the best."
"You really shouldn't be." Aki said as he scanned all the buildings. None had good sniper spots unless they wanted to be obvious. "I'm in town for someone else."
Gorgon shrugged. "But they still have you the job of... Me! I should be honored. But I don't think you'll get to far."
"You're funny Gordon. How'd you know about the sniper?"
"A little birdie said there was a man with a gun on a roof pointed to my lunch." He said and made some strange, unnecessary, over exaggerated hand gestures. "I don't think you'll kill me today either. Though I did have to get 15 stitches cause of you."
"Good." Aki said. And draw his gun. "And you'd be wrong." He added the safety off and his finger on the trigger.
"No no." Aki shot once. Hitting just before Gordon's feet. "I don't think you want to do that. You're friend would suffer greatly."
Aki smirked. "You don't have anything on me." He still waited to see who his friend was.
Gordon smirked and waved his hand. From the truck, three men emerged with a limp body that seemed to stir slightly when they pulled him from the truck then dropped him to his knees with a gun pointed at his head.
Aki didn't move as Sam was this friend they mentioned. He was trained not to care but God damnit he wasn't even involved.
"Come now, Zero... You don't want someone with such an innocent face to have it blown off in a gun fight."
Aki let his eyes direct back to the man on the truck. He hadn't flinched. Barely moved. Though Sam's eyes had gone wide and he'd opened his mouth, he was threatened by the man behind him and kept his mouth shut. "I don't know him."
"Oh but he knows you. He said so."
"Your point."
Now Sam was visibly shaking. Aki felt bad but this was his job. His line of work.
"If you don't care that much shoot us."
"Okay." Aki said and barely moving anything but his arm he shot the man holding a gun to Sam's head. Another one tried to and suddenly there were more men. Not a whole lot. He shot two more making them drop to the ground.
He moved to the side at first at a walk before jogging to Sam and grabbing the collar of his shirt and pulling him up and with him to a building.
There was blood on his face. There was a trail down the back of his neck too. He tossed him to the side in the building and then left again giving no time to say anything. He just barely heard him say his name. After a few more gun shots he got to Gordon.
