after the bell for first rang, signaling that it was time to go to second period, i speed walked to the door to get away from mrs.briggs but of course i got caught by her.

"ms.delamare, where do you think you're going?" she asked closing the door and locking it.

i didn't answer, instead i just waited for her to continue her lecture.

"is everything alright? how come you weren't paying attention in my class today?" she asked taking a seat at her desk.

"there's nothing wrong. look, i have to get to class" i said about to walk out the door but she stopped me.

"maybe i can help if something is wrong" she suggested.

"what are you, my damn therapist?" i asked then got out my seat made my way to my next class.

(skip classes 2-4)

once lunch hit, i started to get anxious because i wasn't ready to see her yet.

"hey sammy!" i called out to him just before he was about to walk into the lunch room.

"hey kayden! what's up?" he asked looking like he was in a hurry to get to lunch.

"do you, um, want to get off campus lunch?" i asked looking at him and waiting for him to reply.

"we can do that here?" he asked in amazement.

"yeah" i said.

"i thought that was only in the movies" he said in his same state as before.

"nope. now let's go" i said once i saw her going into the cafeteria.

"we can take my car if you want?" he suggested.

"yeah, sure" i said then we made our way to his car.

he opened the door for me and i thanked then he got into car and we drove off.

"okay, where to? your pick" he said then made a right.

"what about culprits cafe" i suggested since it was my favorite cafe in nebraska.

"culprits cafe it is" he said then made his way to my food.

i walked into the cafe and seen that there were hardly any people and that me and sammy would the only ones in here other than the employees and a cute elderly couple that were drinking their coffee in peace.

i walked over to the counter and began to order my food as soon as the lady came to take my order at the register.

"hi, my name is lisa, how can i help you two?" lisa asked giving us her full attention.

"hi, can i get the pesto chicken & spin" i said to her while she took my order.

"will that be all?" she asked.

"can also get the apple izze soda" i said then began to take out my cash.

sammy pushed me away lightly then began order and paid for both our orders.

while we waited for our food, we took a seat and talked and got to each other more.

i learned more about his family and learned that he has two brothers and one sister.

"sammy!" the lady said and sammy got up to get the food then i got up and we walked out the cafe and over to the car.

i grabbed the food from sammy then hopped into his car after he opened the door for me once again.
