My first thought is to go to Kaleb.I drive from the parking lot that I parked myself in and make my way to his house. Pulling up to his house I notice that all the lights are turned off and I sigh. He's probably passed out by now. I turn the car back on and pull away from his house and make my way back to my own, cranking the music as I go to overpower my racing thoughts.
Pulling into my driveway and turning off the car, I lean back into my seat and close my eyes. Shaking my head in disbelief I pull at the door handle and exit the car, heading up the stairs and into the house.
"There you are." Raine exclaims meeting me at the door. I raise my eyebrows in question to her outburst but all she does is raise her eyebrows in return; ever the sassy girl. "I saw Cam run out of here like a bat out of hell. What the hell happened?" She asks, her eyebrows quirking up a little higher.
I let out a breath and lean against the door frame and close my eyes again. Shaking my head and pushing past Raine I make my way into the Kitchen and pull open the fridge, looking for something to eat.
"Um, hello?" Raine whines from the front hall and I can hear her turn on her heels and stomp her way towards me. I watch her lean against the door frame and raise her eyebrows as I take a bite of my yogurt. I shrug my shoulders slightly and almost whisper my answer.
"We kissed."
Raine is silent, and I can practically hear the shock form on her face. "You what? You and- really?" She stutters with disbelief and I nod my head in return. "Oh my God, what about Kaleb? Are you guys still dating, does he know? He doesn't does he? Oh, I wonder if he'll freak when he finds out. Are you going to tell him or are you just going to-"
"Raine." I cut her off abruptly and she stops in her tracks, letting her words fall away. "Let me deal with that." Raine doesn't say anything, instead she just nods her head and crosses her arms against her chest. "And actually, I should be the one asking you questions. What the hell happened to Jake?"
Raine's face goes red and my eyes grow a little wider as I wing my eyebrows up in concern. Raine remains quiet and I huff out a frustrated breath and turn on my heels making my way out of the room and away from her, pulling my phone out of my pocket as I go.
I shoot a quick text to Kaleb before running upstairs. I walk slowly down the hallway letting my mind go and my thoughts travel. What was I thinking doing something like that? Touching a finger to my lips, I pause just before the door to my room. I sigh before grabbing ahold of the handle and opening it.
"Natalia." I jump at the voice and my eyes dart to the couch where I find Kaleb sitting.
"How long have you been here?" I ask him, shutting the door behind me before moving to where he's sat on the couch. "I've called you like a million times."
"I lost my phone." Kaleb blurts out and I raise an eyebrow.
"Really?"
"Yeah, must have put it down somewhere and forgot to pick it up." He explains giving me a side glance. I nod my head in understanding and pull my legs up onto the couch and tuck them in comfortably beside me.
"So what are you doing here?" I ask him breaking the silence.
"Well I was coming over to bring you something for dinner," he says pointing to the takeout boxes on the table. "but when I was walking up the sidewalk I saw Cam bolt passed me, and then I saw you. In the car, driving after him."
It's quiet for a while and Kaleb just stares at me , his eyes wide and concentrated as if he were trying to read my mind. "So," he begins. "what was that all about?"
