I wake up the next morning to the loud buzzing of my alarm clock and move over to turn it off but my head smacks into something hard beside me and I move my hand up to my head to rub the sore spot while I turn over in one swift motion. Cam is still sleeping next to me and my eyebrows furrow before going back to last night. I shove his arm to wake him up and he moans and stretches before opening his eyes to look at me. 

"What are you doing in the bed? I thought you were sleeping on the couch." 

"My back started to hurt so I just climbed in with you. Don't worry, no funny business." He promises me and I roll my eyes. Cam yawns and my nose crinkles at the smell of his breath. 

"Oh god, go take a swig of some mouthwash! That's awful." I laugh at him and he smirks at me before getting up and out of my bed and making his way towards the bathroom. He closes the door right in time because suddenly there's a knock at my door and Rayne peeks her head in. 

"Hey, just making sure that you're up." She tells me before closing my door to leave me to get ready. Once Rayne is gone, I pull the sheets off of me and make my way to my closet to pull out something to wear for today. We have rehearsals and the first show today, so I decide on some comfy leggings, a nice white shirt, and a long burgundy cardigan. I close the door to my closet before stripping and throwing on my clothes. Once I am dressed, I open the door to find Cam already out of the bathroom and sitting on my couch. Seeing as the bathroom is free, I make my way in there and shut the door behind me. 

Staring at myself in the mirror for a while, I bring up last night's conversation again for the fifth time since Cam and I had had it. 

"You see, you're new here, so let me shed some light on the subject. Kaleb's mom got pregnant when she was eighteen. Kaleb has never seen or met his dad.  When Kaleb was about thirteen, his mom married Shane, and that was the best thing that had ever happened to him. Suddenly he had a father again."

"How do you know all this?" 

"Believe it or not, Kaleb and I used to get along pretty well before all of this happened. Anyways, his mom and Shane got married, and that was perfect for him. He had a complete family now. Flash forward to a couple years later and things aren't so great anymore. Apparently, Shane cheated on his mom with another woman and that completely broke his trust in him. He hated him now. Soon enough his mother found out and she kicked him out, but he kept coming back. She would let him stay on the couch overnight, but that was it. Kaleb loathed him. Pretty soon after that, Shane turned to drugs and alcohol, and he would literally be passed out half the day, just chilling in their garage because he had no other place to go."

"Wow, that all sounds so awful, I can't believe he ever went through all of this." 

"Yeah well, anyways, you know Jake Boston right? Right, I guess you do. Sorry. Anyways, it was his sixteenth birthday and we were throwing him a party. I can't remember exactly what went down but Jake and Kaleb needed to go back to Kaleb's house to grab something and they had already been drinking. I told them to take a cab and they promised me they would, so I, of course, went back to partying.
