"Call the angels. This razor blade's meant for me. Call the angels, we'll mutilate insanity." -We Sleep Forever by Aiden
"Irina, I think Chris needs help with his tent, he's stuck in it." Ricky said, walking over to me. I sighed and gave him a look.
"You couldn't find anyone else to help him?" I asked, glancing at Violet. Her nose was bruised and she cut glares at me in between conversation with a boy I had never met before.
"Seriously, I'm afraid Violet will try to rape him." I rolled my eyes and followed him.
We had picked out a pretty secluded place in the woods just a few yards from the road where the ground was pretty comfortable. It was just far enough to not be seen by anyone.
Chris was fumbling around inside the tent, Lizzy sitting in a fold-out lounge reading a magazine. She wasn't helping at all. She smacked her lips and raised her eyebrows at me as she shuffled the magazine to cover her large black glasses.
I shook my head and walked over to Chris who was still fumbling inside the cloth. I unzipped the door and met his eyes.
"I was told you need help." I said coldly. Chris glared at Ricky as he stepped out, carrying the rods that go on the outside of the tent.
I stifled laughter as I took them from him and Ricky and began setting up the tent. Chris began hammering the stakes into the ground. I finished stringing it through and it just worked out where he was right there.
He looked up right as my cleavage was right above him. The air got sticky and tense as I stood up quickly as Ricky finished with his side.
"Thanks." Chris mumbled. "This tent isn't big enough to fit two people comfortably." I stated plainly. "It's not." Lizzy interjected before Chris could speak. We both gave her a confused look.
"I'm sleeping on the bus like a human being!" she snapped, standing up. She stomped off and I tried to fight back a smirk.
"Got yourself a real winner there, Chris." I felt him exhale deeply as I turned and left him standing alone.
I joined Alex and Penelope who had started a pretty good camp fire. I sat down beside it and pulled my legs to myself and watched as the fire licked the air that had begun to cool.
"So where's Angelo?" Everyone directed their attention to me. I saved my hot dog just before it was engulfed in flames and waited for an answer.
"He quit the band." Josh answered. "Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that." I said gently as it grew quiet. "Yeah, he's an apprentice at a tattoo place in Scranton." Devin added. I nodded.
"And Vinny here is s replacement." I glared at Violet who had spoken as Vinny dropped his eyes. "Don't think of it that way." I said softly and Vinny offered me a smile.
"Why are you guys here?" Ricky had spoken, taking a drag from his cigarette.
"I'm writing an article for a contest with Time magazine." Penelope said. "On us?" Devin said jokingly.
"No, we just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time." I said softly, glancing at Chris. He was messing with his phone. Probably liking more girls with tongue piercings.
"Okay, well tomorrow we have got a big day." Penelope started, standing up.
Ricky's eyes followed her as she started towards her tent. "She's right." Alex said, standing up. He took our bucket of water and doused the fire.
