"How much longer until Irina's? I've got to piss like a racehorse!" Ryan asked, jiggling his leg in the passenger seat. I gave him a look as we neared the exit."About ten minutes. Think you can hold it grandpa?" I asked as Ricky made a water-like sound.
"Cut that shit out!" Ryan said, glaring at him. I started laughing. "You guys think it's funny." Ryan said grumpily, glaring out the window. I took the exit and kept my eyes on the road.
A moment of silence wiggled its way into the car. "I just can't believe that fucker got out." Ryan mumbled. My knuckles tightened on the wheel.
"Yeah it's crazy. I hope we find him and kill him." Ricky said softly. "Is this that guy you were telling me about?" Vinny asked. I had almost forgotten he was in the car. "Yeah." I grunted, turning down the road to Irina's.
"Well at least we know she'll be safe as long as we're there." Vinny said hopefully.
I hated to pull the guys into our affairs, but I didn't want to be alone when it came to protecting Irina. Girlfriend or not, her safety was the number one priority.
We pulled into the driveway and I turned off the car. I took a deep breath and looked up at the house.
From what I could see, most of the lights were on and everything seemed to be pretty normal. I had been told that Violet was with her. But I wondered why "our biggest fan" had not jumped at the sound of our cars.
"We going in or are you gonna sit out here like a pussy?" Ryan asked jokingly.
"Hey, I'm not the one who's gotta pee." I said, getting out. We walked up the concrete walk and came to the door. I knocked once, loud and announcing.
Now I was a little concerned.
Had Violet found some new band to obsess over? While I was relieved I was also worried, why wasn't she answering the damn door? I knocked again.
Muffled music faintly beckoned us inside as I opened the door.
"Why would they leave the door unlocked?" Vinny asked as Ryan pushed past me and into the bathroom.
"They're probably upstairs. I'll go let them know we're here." I said, as Josh and Devin appeared. I gave a small nod and headed upstairs.
A Five Finger Death Punch song I knew blared from Irina's room. I walked over and knocked on the door.
I will never be what you want me to.
"Irina it's Chris. We're here."
Irina
It was so hot in here. I turned on the shower and crawled in over the side. The cold water fell over me as I shivered in spite of the heat from my skin.
I floated in and out of consciousness as sounds came from downstairs. I could faintly hear a song from my room as another tremor came from inside my body.
I bit back a cry of pain as I hugged the shower floor. It was pain like I had never felt, and nothing I did stopped it. Tears stained my cheeks as I bit my lip, drawing blood as his voice ran out.
"Irina it's Chris. We're here." The song switched to another one I knew. I cursed the mix that Alex had made me. Another wave of pain rang out and I held back my voice.
"Irina?" I heard a few loud knocks and then my door being opened.
"Irina?" his voice was more worried this time. I heard his quick heavy footsteps on the hallway floor and then his knock.
"Irina, are you in there?" A wave took me by surprise and I let out a cry.
"Irina? I swear I'll go away. Just tell me you're okay." I let out a throaty laugh at the thought.
Was I okay? The strongest of all the pains rushed through and I cried out in spite of myself.
"Irina!" There were a few hard pushes and then the door splintered open.
I heard exclamations from downstairs. His boots slapped the tile floor as the shower curtain was wretched open and my world was blinded by light. There he was, his shadow shielding me from the harsh fluorescent light.
"Irina? What are you doing?" he asked. My eyes drooped as I tried to answer him.
"Darling what's wrong?" he asked, panic filling his voice.
"Hey is she okay?" It was Ricky. Chris bent down and took my head in his hands. He moved a little closer to check my eyes and recoiled as I let out a shaky breath.
"She's got the whole ABC store on her breath," he said darkly as my head lolled to one side. My stomach erupted in pain and I let out a cry. He shut off the water.
Chris's eyebrows furrowed as he moved to get a towel.
"Irina, did you take these?" He appeared again, holding the bottle that I had finished off.
"Irina answer me!" he screamed.
"Y-Yes." I said, tears streaming down my face.
"How many? How many did you take?" he asked as I started to drift off. "Irina!" "All of them!" I wailed as I shivered.
"Ricky call and ambulance." Chris said as he pushed me into a sitting position.
"Come on, you gotta puke this shit up." he said. "N-No."
"You shove your fingers down your throat or I will." he said sternly.
"I think she took a whole bottle. Yeah she's talking now." I heard Ricky from the other room. I pushed my fingers down my throat but couldn't get it to come up.
"Why would you do this?" Chris asked as he wrapped a towel around me.
"I'm a bad person Chris. I need to die." I said as he pulled me out of the tub and onto the floor.
"No you're not. You are the most amazing person I know." he said as my eyes started to close.
"Irina? No no no stay with me." I felt him slap my cheek as I rested my head in his lap.
"Please, just five minutes. I-I am so tired." I said, taking in his scent.
"No! Wake up!" he screamed, pulling on my eyelid to look at him.
My body refused as I sank into the deep dark waters, quickly and quietly.
