Chris
"Dude, I still think this is a bit much." Josh said, handing me the handgun. "Look, I am tired of the bullshit. I am getting her back." I said, pushing the gun into the back of my jeans.
"There are six of us, and one of him." Vinny said. "Thank you for pointing out the obvious." Ryan commented from the back seat.
Ricky followed in his car, I had told my mother some story about going to see some band. A band going to see a band...sounds about right. I sped along the deserted highway.
"Alright, take the next exit and in a few miles we'll see him." Josh said. I followed his directions and soon we were traveling on a desolate old road. "Right up there."
I could see Lance's old, beaten up car. And there he was, sitting in the drivers seat. My knuckles turned an even brighter white as I pulled into the gravel shoulder.
"Alright, just follow me." I said, sighing. "Always have." Josh said, opening the door. We stepped out, the fog that hung in the air hugged our legs. "Jesus Christ, what took you guys so long!?" Lance spat, stepping out.
"Where's Irina?" I asked. He smirked. "She's fine, for now." I willed myself not to grab the gun, instead I balled my fists. "So where's the cash?" Ricky handed me the duffle bag.
"Tell me where she is, and you get the money." He eyed me. "The town, isn't it fucking obvious?" he spat, holding out his hand. I glanced at Josh and then tossed the bag at him.
He caught it, and in the moment he took to open the bag, I was upon him.
"What the fuck is-." I cut him off by slamming his face into the top of his car.
"Look I am tired of this bullshit. You're gonna take us to them." "And if I don't?" Lance asked. I let him go and handed him to Josh and Vinny who gave him a few good punches.
"Let's go. Now." "Will! Will!" I glanced back at him, confused. Ryan ripped the Bluetooth from his ear and handed it to me. I placed it next to my ear.
"Bad move, Cerulli. Bad move." "We have to go now, get him in the car."
Irina
"Now unfortunately, you're little boyfriend has sailed us both down the river." Will said as he dropped his phone and began bustling about the room.
"Okay, if they are on their way, why not put a bullet in my head and end it?" I snapped, rolling my eyes. He looked over and glared at me. "Shut up."
"No Will I'm serious. This whole 'I have to kill you in a creepy, ritualistic way' shit has really gotten out of hand. I mean, what is it with you? Why can't you just be simple and put some lead into me?" He shook his head.
"That's too simple Irina." I let out an exasperated sigh. At this point, I was just done. I had wanted to reason with him, but I knew Chris would do something like this. And I could not let him come here and watch me die. I just couldn't.
Lance bent down and removed a large board that had been covered in dirt. "What's that?" I asked, averting my eyes.
"Your death. It's gothic, romantic and if you're nice and calm, it'll last longer." I gave him a puzzled look.
