Dia made yet another grand entrance into the hallroom, unfazed by all the looks her seniors gave her. Katy and Meg followed right behind her, completing her sass by synchronizing with her. It was a well rehearsed, well practiced walk. Except, it wasn't. She was dressed in a short maroon skirt, followed by a loose fitting long sleeved white shirt with a little knot hanging out, messily tucked into her skirt.

She made anything look good.

Her shoes were knee high plain boots and her hair flowed behind her as she held her most serious bitch face. Behind her, Meg was dressed in a one piece tight grey dress, tossing her bangs to a side with a slight head flip as she followed beside Katy, who wore her casual cream cashmere long sleeved shirt with her short grey skirt. Dia stopped at the first row of seats, crossing her arms across her chest. The teacher knocked out of the trance and handed her a short script. She didn't reply and seated herself on a nearby seat while Katy and Meg followed.

"Do you...?" The teacher asked Katy while handing Meg her script. Katy laughed nervously and shook her head.

"No, I'm just... Friends." She motioned to Dia and Meg before sitting down herself. The teacher nodded before turning back to the stage. On the next row of seats, sat the current cheerleading captain and her friends. The current IT girl. Jenna Drew. She nudged her friend before pointing to Dia. She pulled on a smirk as she twirled one of her golden blonde curls in her finger. She had to admit... That newbie was pretty as fuck.

Dia crossed her legs together. After she nails this, she only had one more thing to worry about before she continues with her studies. She tapped her slender finger on the side of her seat as she waited for the three people before her to finish with their auditions. Then, she went on. Her role was to play a mother who's daughter had turned away from her. The teacher took one look at her face and decided that was not the role for this girl, no. This girl needed something greater. That was, if she made it through the audition.

No questions asked when she finished her lines, the entire hallroom stood silent. How she did it, no one knew. She was always known for her amazing ability to get attention.

And she always got it.

A slow clap emerged from the audience and she took a quick bow before Meg went on. Jenna eyed Dia as she sat down. She just had to befriend this new gem. When the audition was over and people began to file out, Jenna stood up, causing most of the people to halt. Dia was about to walk away when Jenna stopped in front of her, holding out her hand.

"Jenna Drew, cheer captain." She smiled. Dia took her hand and smiled back.

"Dia Grand." She answered. Jenna raised an eyebrow.

"The Dia Grand? Daughter of Christian Grand, the model?!" Jenna breathed. This girl was getting better and better.

"The one and only." Dia had a look of confidence that Jenna could not overlook.

"I'm guessing you would be applying for the cheer squad?" She asked. Dia only laughed. "I can fairly say I'd want you on the team no matter what." She assured the girl before looking at her watch. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go and do the short listing for the club." She motioned towards the teacher before giving a quick smile to Dia and walking away towards the stage. Meg breathed.

"She talked to you." She began.

"Excuse me?" Dia turned to Meg. "I don't see how that makes this anymore special. The only reason I'm interested is because she's cheer captain." She turned and began to walk off towards the door. "I talked to her." She finalised.

ΞΞΞΞΞΞΞ

Dia walked into her language class and sat down at the front. Meg and Katy followed. Katy was Dia's longest friend. She met Katy through her mother when she was only 7 and they had been best friends since. Although Dia wasn't completely rude to her, she had a soft spot for Katy compared to Meg. She could insult Meg all she wanted. She kept it low for Katy. Katy was the type of girl who would get easily offended and really hurt easily. She stuck to Dia because Dia could easily fend off anything that would harm her. Dia was like her protecter. In turn she provided Dia with her services of loyalty and friendship. Katy wasn't like other girls. She was nice to people. Which is why she was weak.

"Why'd you pick Greek?" Meg asked Dia. She rolled her eyes.

"Cause french is so last year. I learnt french when I was 9. And Spanish was a piece of cake. I just find Greek the only left over. Might as well learn this too." She shrugged.

"You mean, you never learnt Greek before?" Meg asked.

"Nope." Dia shook her head as she stared at the teacher who walked in with a bored look on her face. The man who walked in had a sense of magnetism to him that Dia could not overlook. He looked around the class, eyes landing on Dia, stern but calm. Dia stilled. He mouthed a silent word to her. She couldn't catch it. He turned to the board and wrote down his name in greek.

Φαετον

He turned back to the class, letting everyone eye the letters.

"Does anyone know what this reads?" He asked the class. "Anyone?" He seemed like he knew more than he was letting on. "No one at all? Come on! At least one of you must have learnt it some what?" His eyes landed on Dia. "You'll know." He smirked. Dia stared, confused. Her eyes drifted back to the board. The letters were no longer greek now. She could clearly read the romanized letter.

"Phaeton." She answered him smoothly. His smirk grew wider.

"Well done. I'm glad at least someone knew. This," he pointed back to the board. Dia was shocked for a moment as her eyes landed on the now greek letters. What? "Is my name, Phaeton. Now, who knows what Phaeton derives from?" He asked the class.

"Is he from the myths?" A student in the back asked.

"Yes. He comes from the mythological characters. He was the son of the Oceanid Clymene and the solar deity Apollo or Helios. Alternative, less common genealogies make him a son of Clymenus by Merope, of Helios and Rhode (thus a full brother of the Heliadae) or of Helios and Prote." The teacher began to explain.

"Phaeton was the one who was killed by Zeus due to the loss of control of the chariot of fire, right?" Dia questioned, not sure if she remembered the tale right. She could not remember where she had heard it from, but she certainly had.

"Not quite." The teacher nodded. "But you're not too far from the facts-uh... Myths. Phaethon, challenged by his playmates, sought assurance from his mother that his father was the sun god. She gave him the requested assurance and told him to turn to his father for confirmation. He asked his father for some proof that would demonstrate his relationship with the sun. When the god promised to grant him whatever he wanted, he insisted on being allowed to drive the sun chariot for a day. Placed in charge of the chariot, he was unable to control the horses. The earth was in danger of being burnt up and, to prevent this disaster, Zeus killed him with a thunderbolt. Not chariot of fire, Sun chariot."

"Are we in a religion class?" A guy from the back groaned.

"These are myths boy. Believe it or not, the language is highly associated with it." The teacher seemed unfazed by the rude remark.

"So why were you named after Helios' son?" The same guy asked.

"Because my mother wanted to." He waved the student off but the guy continued.

"Who's your mother?" He mocked, grinning. A few students joined in.

"Definitely not your mother, who, if I may add, you might just find in my bed by tomorrow if you continue this behaviour." He shot a warning look at the student who shut up, having had the tables turned on him.

ΞΞΞΞΞΞΞ

"You can read Greek?!" Katy began as they headed to the gates of the school after it was dismissed.

"I... Don't know." Dia was confused. How had she done it? And where had she heard it from? She clearly could not remember.

"I thought you said you never studied Greek, what did you just do back there?" Meg followed.

"Look, I do not know! I must have somehow read them in a book or something somewhere I don't know." Dia shook her friends off. "Look, I-I... i need to g-"

"Ms. Grand?" The voice that spoke behind her caught her attention. She turned around to see Mr. Phaeton standing nearby with his arms crossed across his chest. "I'd like to see you at my office."
