4.45pm
"Cyane, where the hell are you going?"
Paige chased after him, as he walked towards the front door.
"Out."
She snorted. "Yeah, that sounds like a perfect explanation."
"It wasn't meant to be one."
He grabbed his phone and keys but Paige took a swift streak and blocked his way to the door.
"Paige." He warned. "Get out of my way."
"No." She replied stubbornly, crossing her arms. "Not until you tell me where you're going."
He exhaled slowly, closing his eyes.
"Paige, I have to do this."
She raised an eyebrow. "Sure, I let you out of this door and next thing I know, I'll be receiving a phone call from the hospital."
He shuddered at the memory. "Paige, I'm not going to faint this..."
"How could you be so sure of that, huh?" She interjected. "Your mom didn't ask me to take care of you just so you could run off and get in trouble."
He didn't reply. He knew all too well what happened the last time.
"It's not the fainting I'm worry about, Cyane. It's the aftermath, don't you get it?" She sniffled. "What if you..."
He placed a finger on her lips to shush her. "Don't say it, Paige."
"I'm fully aware of the risk but...but I can't keep doing this, not without seeing Adeline before she leave."
A confusion look crossed her face.
"You're telling her?"
"I don't know."
