Headmaster McGonagall handed Ariana a Gryffindor crest and Ariana skipped over to the Gryffindor table, sitting by her new friends.
"Good job, Ariana!" Hermione congratulated.
"Congrats!" Ginny smiled.
"Thank you, thank you!" She addressed both of them.
The first years were in rows of seven, and marched up to in front of the stage, led by the new headmaster.
She called out the procedure of what to do when your name is called, and after the Hat tells you your house. She says the rules and begins calling out the first year's names.
"Andrews, Nina." McGonagall announced.
"Hufflepuff!" The Hat shouted. She proceeded to her new House's table.
After new members were added to each House, when an unexpected last name was called.
"Malfoy, Nova." McGonagall looked at the paper as if it was a foreign object, making sure she read it right. Surely she did, for a girl with platinum blonde, curly hair walked swiftly to the stool.
Harry got a glimpse of Draco, who looked completely confused, and nervous at the same time. His attention was caught by this girl he had never heard of, or seen, before.
"Ah, yes. A Malfoy. Haven't had one in years." The Hat muttered. Hermione, Harry, Ginny, Neville, Fred, and Ariana all exchanged weird or shocked looks.
"A Malfoy?" Fred whispered.
Hermione shrugged. They had to of been related, the platinum blonde hair, the last name, the first name that had to do with outer space, and Draco had the same skin tone as the girl on stage.
"Easy choice- Slytherin!" The Hat shouted.
Draco's Pov
************
All the Slytherins, except Draco and Blaise, who Draco didn't know was coming until now, clapped for their new member. They had no idea that there was something strange with another Malfoy roaming around. The Malfoy, whose name Draco remembered as Nova, sat directly across from Draco and Blaise.
"Hi, Draco. I finally get to come to school with you!" She smiled brightly. Draco noticed she was missing two or three teeth, remembering that struggle.
"Hi...." Draco said awkwardly. "Who are you?" He whispered, leaning in close to her.
"I'm your cousin." She says. "Nova."
"How do you know me? Who's your mother and father?" Draco rambled.
"Of course I'll know my cousins. My mum is Andromeda Tonks, but my name was changed to Malfoy a few years back when Aunt Narcissa took me in."
"Who?!" Draco couldn't believe it. His mother brought someone in without letting him know? It couldn't have happened. His mum wouldn't do that, especially keeping it from Draco and his father. But did his father know? Draco couldn't think about this, but thoughts kept popping up. Did Aunt Andromeda even have another daughter? Of course, she had Nymphadora Tonks, but an eleven year old? Aunt Andromeda never told anyone about her? Why didn't his own mother tell him about Nova?
"Your mum." She replied. "I was taken in after my mum died." She looked down at the food on the table.
Andromeda died three years ago. Did his mother really keep this secret?
"But you've never lived in the Malfoy Manor," Draco paused, "have you?"
She tilted her head up to look at her cousin. "No," she said simply. She was a lot less cheery than before. "I was hidden in Grimmuald Place whenever you weren't at home. Last year, a house elf was ordered by Narcissa to keep me in a muggle home. They had spells cast on them to believe that I was their daughter. Narcissa never wanted you or Lucius to know about me. But she can't stop me here." Nova looked around her. She grabbed some mashed potatoes and meat to pile on her plate.
"Nova," Draco started.
"What?" She asked right before she put some potatoes in her mouth.
"I don't know you. You're not my cousin." Draco stated clearly.
"Draco," she says. "Of course you don't know me. This is a lot but you will love me. I promise." She smiled brightly again.
Draco stood and left the Great Hall without another word. He loosened his tie and sat on a bench in the Entrance Hall. He didn't want to know he had a cousin. He didn't want to know his mother was hiding someone from him. That a relative of his was indeed hiding, but forced into Hogwarts. He ran his hands through his light hair and let out a big sigh, as a hand went to his back.
He tilted his head towards the person who snuck up on him. Ariana.
"What happened?" She asked. "Who was that Nova girl?"
"Apparently a cousin." Draco whispers, barely audible.
"A cousin? You told me your only cousin was Tonks and her son, Todd." Ariana had creases between her eyebrows.
"Teddy, first off. But I didn't know about her until now. My mother hid her from me and my father. My own mother!" Draco stood up quickly, now angry. He didn't know what to do with Nova.
"It's okay, Draco." Ariana whispered, standing behind him and wrapped her arm around his bicep.
"I don't know." He replied.
"Draco, think about it. Owl your mum. Do what you want, but don't talk to Nova until you know more. She could be a lie or something." Ariana said. She kissed his cheek, and loosened her grip on her boyfriend.
"Ari," Draco whispers. "I love you."
"I love you, too." She returns. Their lips find each other and they're in contact for minutes. Ariana finally breaks away when she notices Nova appear in front of them.
"Night Draco." Ariana lightly giggles, and motions Draco to keep walking. She walks toward the Gryffindor Common Room with the map the headmaster provided her.
"Good night." He answers, and walks toward his own common room.
"Draco," Nova whined. "Listen to me!"
"What?" Draco acknowledged her, getting irritated easily.
"She's pretty." Nova gives a thumbs up and walks back into the Great Hall.
Draco just lightly chuckles and walks below the Black Lake.

Hermione's Pov
**************
"Is there really another Malfoy?" Fred asks, after the feast was over, and they walked back up to the common room.
"We should ask Ariana." Hermione suggests.
"Maybe, but he looked too surprised to know her." Harry contributes to the conversation.
"Bowtruckle." Hermione says loudly to the Fat Lady.
"'Elcome back." The Fat Lady replies, and the portrait swings open.
"But I don't understand. How can he have a relative that he doesn't know about?" Fred asks.
"I don't know. Let's not worry right now. We can meet up with him later. For now, let's go see our dorms!" Hermione squealed.
Everyone agreed and they said goodnight to one another, and kissed their girlfriend or boyfriend, too.
Hermione led Ginny and Ariana to the highest girl's dorm in Gryffindor Tower. It was reserved for returning seventh years, and the highest was for Hermione and a few friends. She opened the door, and it was huge! There was four beds with canopies. They were the same as their old bed, except larger. The walls were painted gold, which were sure to glow on a sunny day.
It was the first time this room was used, Hermione could tell. It still smelled of fresh paint. It must have been newly made. Hermione couldn't help but smile in awe.
"Whoa," Ginny said. That was all any of the girls said. They looked around. It had a bathroom, and a couch. There was a beautiful, shining chandelier hanging from the middle of the ceiling.
"I can't believe this!" Ariana walked in a semicircle in the middle of the room. "This is way better than Beaubatons for sure!"
Ariana sat on the couch, setting her stuff in front if her. She grabbed her Gryffindor crest out of her robe pocket and used a simple spell to sew it on the front of her robes.
"Which bed do you guys want?" Hermione asked the two. She didn't care what bed she got, they were all the same.
"I don't care." Ginny said, setting her belongings against the wall, left of the door.
Hermione left her stuff in the common room, where it was brought before the feast, and she wanted to see her dorm so bad. She didn't feel like peeling her eyes away from the bright room.
"Accio luggage." Hermione said, opening the door. In a matter of seconds, her three bags were up the stairs and into the bedroom.
"Nice Hermione. I can never get that spell to work." Ginny stated jealously.
Hermione just smiled and sat on the couch next to Ariana, who was fiddling with the sleeves on her robe. She must have been cold. Hermione didn't ask, she felt a little awkward to ask what she was doing, for it could've been done absentmindedly.
Ginny sat the bed on the right side of the door, the only one on that wall. It had purple sheets, and white curtains around the bed. Ariana looked quite tired herself. She grabbed her luggage and asked Hermione what bed she wanted.
"Doesn't matter. I like all of them." Hermione replied, yawning.
"Okay, I'll take the blue one then." She said. It was on the wall opposite of Ginny's. It was the same as Ginny's, except the sheets were light blue.
Hermione nodded, and took the green bed, which was opposite of the door. She liked the color, especially the way it looked with the gold walls. You wouldn't think it matched, but they were good together.
Hermione and Ginny fell asleep first, after thinking about their boyfriends. Ginny really loved Harry, and wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. But she thought maybe it was just a teen thing to think.
Hermione thought about Fred's smile and his ridiculous pranks he used to pull. She hoped, much to her dismay, that he'd continue to prank people so he will be happy. He wasn't depressed, but it seemed as if a big part of him was missing after George died.
Ariana, however, fled the room after Hermione and Ginny were softly snoring. She went to go meet Draco. She had a feeling that he'd be waiting outside the Gryffindor common room, feeling her left forearm tingle. She opened the portrait silently and it closed behind her softly.
As she predicted, Draco was outside the common room. He was sitting on the bench in front if the sleeping portrait. He had his face buried in his hands and sighed.
"You know you can get caught out here, right?" Ariana whispered, and giggled slightly. She didn't want to wake the portrait, and get them caught by Filch on the first night.
He jumped a bit, and realized it was his girlfriend.
"Hey Ari!" He stood. They wrapped their arms around each other briefly.
"How'd you know I was out here?" He asked, leading her to the bench.
"Did you touch your Dark Mark?" She asked randomly. "Because-" he cut her off.
"I mean, I don't know. I could've by accident. Why?" He asked, looking curious and worried.
"No reason," Ariana pulled her pajama shirt's sleeves down more toward her wrist. She fumbled slightly and she looked frantic.
"Ariana," Draco looked at her with a glare that resembled McGonagall's. "Ariana!"
"What?" She snapped. He grabbed hold of her left arm. "Get off of me!" She snapped again.
He rolled her sleeve up, revealing a snake tattoo with a skull on top. The Dark Mark.
"Ariana," He gasped. "Why? What? When?" The questions shot out of him. He was furious that she never told him.
"Shut up, Draco." Ariana said fiercely. "I don't want this either." Her eyes watered up.
"Ari, why didn't you tell me?"
"Because you'd hate me." She looked away from him at a portrait with an ugly wizard who was sleeping at a card table.
"You don't hate me." He said. "Do you?"
"No," Ariana turned to face him again.
"This is too much, Ariana. First I have a cousin, who may or may not be my cousin, who has secrets. Then you? Oh Merlin!" He threw his arms in the air. "I'll see you tomorrow. Goodnight." Draco finished quickly and dashed off, not even looking at his girlfriend.
"Goodnight you gullible weasel." Ariana whispered to herself. She woke up the portrait, trying to say the password.
"Oh, dear! What are you doing out here?" The Fat Lady looked outraged.
"I was... Sleepwalking." Ariana lied.
"Oh, okay. Go to sleep, missy." The Fat Lady opened up.
Ariana dashed back into her dorm, closing the door as quiet as possible, and crawled back into bed. Her secret was revealed now.
