Brittney's POV:

I walk downstairs to meet Ray after rocking Daniel to sleep.

R: Hey.

Me: Hi.

I get concerned as I notice that he looks like something is wrong.

Me: Is everything alright?

R: I just want you to know that I want to become a better man and take care of our child.

Me: Well, that's good, you should be in his life.

R: It's just that I want to prove that I am a man that takes care of his family. I don't want him thinking that I'm someone else other than his father.

Me: I appreciate that you are changing to take care of, your family.

I say as I realize that he said "his family."

R: So is it fine if I sleep with you guys tonight?

Me: Sure, I'll show you where to sleep.

We both stand up and I take him upstairs to a guest room.

Me: You can sleep in here and let me know if you need anything.

R: Thank you Brittney, for letting me see Daniel.

I smile before responding.

Me: Don't thank me Ray, it's something I wanted to do.

I go to my room and lay on my bed.

Later That Night

I put on a T-shirt over my underwear as I lay on my bed, scrolling through my Instagram. I hear a knock at my door, so I get up to see who it is.

Me: Wassup.

R: Can we talk?

Me: Yeah, come on.

He walks in and I sit down on my bed.

R: How's the career going?

Me: Great I guess. What about you?

R: It's getting better, did keisha tell you what scene we'll be doing tomorrow?

Me: No, what?

R: The kissing scene.

My eyebrow rise and silence fills the room for a second.

Me: Well, this is you guys video.

R: Yeah, it shouldn't be hard because we kissed before.

Me: Yeah so it shouldn't be a problem right?

R: Yeah.

We both giggle and silence comes back.

R: I'm not going to lie, I really do miss you Brittney.

Me: Yeah, what we had was special. It was my fault for messing it up.

R: Yeah it was your fault.

I look at him like he lost his mind and hit him in the arm.

Me: You wasn't suppose to agree.

He giggles as I shake my head.

Me: You sure did not change a bit.

R: Neither did you.

We lock eyes and smile. Ray stands up and walks toward the door.

R: Well I'll see you tomorrow.

Me: Yeah. Goodnight.

R: Goodnight.

He walks out of my room, closing the door behind him, and I get in bed.
