Chapter 5

After a sleepless night of worry, like I get before any competition, I was feeling like some sort of zombie. So when I rolled over to see it was only five in the morning. God, why can I never sleep before hearing results, it's not just competitions, its exams. When I had my results day for one exam I couldn't sleep for three days before.

Getting out of bed I grabbed a hoodie from of the end of my bed and walked out of the room, heading towards the kitchen. When I got there I could hear two voices in a quiet but heated conversation, thoughts ran through my mind about, who was in there, and what they were talking about. I was thinking of turning round, I'd only come to get a glass of water and now ended up standing outside the door for at least a minute, and it would have been easier to of just walked in and said sorry, I had heard anyone in here. Opening the door I stepped into the light, to see my dad and Link stood in the middle of the room. What could they be arguing about at this time? It's like 3 in the morning.

"Sorry I don't mean to be intruding anything I just what some water" I said quietly, both were staring at me.

"Oh it's alright sweetie you're not intruding" dad said as I made myself a drink.

"Is everything ok?"

"Yes, we were just talking about tomorrows meals"

"Don't lie to her; she's your daughter for goodness sake! Lucie we were actually talking about you and how I can see how hard you are finding keeping your really identity a secret, as if it going to save the world you being their daughter! What will world war three start?"

"How dare you speak like that Link! Both me and Maggie love Lucie with all of our heart! It was Lucie's idea to do this!"

"Dad! Don't blame me!"

"What the three of us decided together!"

"Exactly! That doesn't mean it was my idea! And Link why do you care? It's my life you have nothing to do with it"

"I just care Lucie!"

"Oh don't start that!"

"But I do"

"Lucie, he's telling the truth. He was telling me about how much he cares. That's what got us on to this conversation

"Oh dad don't you start! If he cares that much why doesn't he just tell me"

"Lucie... I was going to"

"When?"

"Haven't got an answer" I said walking out of the room, my eyes filling up with tears. Why was I getting so upset? I've known him for years, I know all of his tricks with the girls, I've seen them first hand at one of mum's parties she had at the old house, when I was working in the kitchen to keep out of the way.

Instead of going back to the room, I ran up the stairs to my bedroom, unlocking the door using the master key I wore around my neck, I curled up on my bed listening to the footsteps that had followed me slowly. Someone opened the door, I could feel their presents at the edge of the bed where they sat.

"Listen Lucie, I didn't and don't won't to hurt you. I was talking to your dad about taking you out for a meal once this competition finished. It all got a bit out of hand and we started arguing. But I really won't you to know I love you"

"Link? Did you really just say that?" I said sitting up.

"Yes, and I hopefully will continue saying it."

"Please do, because I love you too" I said pulling him into a hug, I don't know whether I am speaking from the heart or not but ever since he came here to work this time I have felt something different about being around him. But now lay here on my bed in his arms, feels perfect. I don't want to move but I really need to go back into the room with the others before they wake up.

After a while Link broke the silence, "I know what you're thinking, we better get you back to your room before any wakes up"

"Do we have to?"

"Yes Luc"

"Eurgh, okay!" I said getting up. We walked to the door and I locked it behind me.

I must have gone to sleep easily after that because I woke up to hear everyone rushing around.

"Oh good Lucie, your awake, I was about to wake you up"

"Morning" I said jumping out of bed and getting changed.

"We're finding out the winner in half an hour, after breakfast" Olivia said more or less dragging me down the corridor to the kitchen. Looking around everyone was in the dining room off the kitchen and my glass of water from last night was on the side still where I left it.

"Pancakes for breakfast, get in there!" Olivia yelled as we queued by the oven watching Link make them.

"Shall I get you a drink?" I said walking to the fringe.

"Apple juice please! How do you know where everything is?"

"Well the glasses were on the side and doesn't everyone keep apple juice in the fringe?"

"Yeah, I guess most do, I'll save you a seat" Olivia said as she picked up her glass of apple juice and walked into the dining room.

"Morning" I said to Link as he dished up my breakfast - an almost heart shaped pancake, scrambled egg and bacon, just how I like it.

"Morning, I was going for heart shaped but I couldn't make it to oblivious now could I?"

"Well, you're a clever boy" I said with a smile, walking into the dining room. Now here's another secret I have to keep quiet! Great for me!

Breakfast past quickly and now we were all sat in the work room waiting for mum. You could tell that all four of us were nervous, we all had fake smiles trying to cover worry in our eyes. Thinking about if we did enough to win the chance to go to a movie premiere. Mum walked in and the room went silent.

"Morning guys, I'm going to tell you the winner of this week's challenge and then you have the day to do anything you like I have booked transport to where ever you would like for the day, so enjoy that! And now down to business, after talking to the other judges I am proud to tell you that the winners are and they will be coming with me and Steve to the premiere of Smurfs 2 is Olivia and Lucie, because of their brilliant designs and the fact the spent about £6 per dress, you must tell me where you went! Okay now you all may go, enjoy yourself"

And with that everyone left the room.

"OMG Lucie, we can go shopping!" Olivia said practically jumping up and down.

"Yeah!" I said not as excited as Olivia but it will be good to go out for a bit.

A/N: Okay, this chapter was a little bit longer than i wanted it to be, i wasnt going to add the breakfast bit in but i throught it was a good touch. So i am going to skip the shopping trip and go staright on to the next day, which is going to be the start of the lat week. i know this competition has been quite short but this weeks going to be packed full of challenges and things. So i hope you enjoy and i will get them uploaded as fast as i can.
