Chapter 24
The last two weeks haven't been as bad as I thought it would be. I mean the world didn't come to an end. So all good. I have been watching everything I do as if in third person.
'What will people think if I do this?'
'Do you think the public will like it if I wear this?'
Weird, I know but I have to keep reminding myself that I am no longer Little Miss Nobody. The day after the press meeting I did find it really weird getting magazines with me in sent through my door but it was nice to read that reports were saying that they thought I had made the right choice and that now I know what to expect. I couldn't work out whether it had been added there by someone in my dad's media team or not. I couldn't tell if any of it had been edited and I knew there was going to be a chance of it being edited so the public wouldn't no the difference. I hate using the word 'public' it makes me feel like I am making myself more important, when there is no way that is the situation. We are all human, right?
No one has found out about me and Link yet, I don't know if that is a good thing or not. After coming out with a big speech about hiding my life a way and it not feeling 100% right, keeping the relationship out of the spotlight feels perfectly fine. Nobody knows, nobody can judge. We both know the minute we come out as a couple, they will say I am sleeping my way into the company. Which would never be the case.
So the past two weeks have consisted of me studying for exams at school, creating clothing sketches with Link to replace the ones that were stolen and starting to make prototypes for Marcus to review before we start on the real thing. It's great working along side Link but the weekdays merge into one and there is no chill time after school like there used to be. It is straight from school to work but I really shouldn't complain I am doing the one thing I love more than anything.
"Lucie?" Link said waving his hand over my face.
"Yeah?"
"You have been spaced out for like five minutes, are you alright?"
"Oh, sorry. I was just thinking"
"What about?"
"Everything that's happened this week"
"Is there anything worrying you?"
"No, should there be?"
"No, just checking because your life has changed so much in such a short amount of time and i didn't know if any of it was worrying you"
"No, i has too many people helping be with it all to have anything to worry about"
"Yeah, i guess so"
"Haha, what you doing?" I asked Link as he rummaged through one of the cupboards around the room, We had been sat here for a good few hours drawing up yet more designs to add to our book for our Spring release.
"Looking for more paper"
"It's on the side"
"There's no left there"
"Have we really used all that up?"
"Yep"
"I didn't know we'd done so many drawings"
"Nor me"
"Do you want me to get some from your dads room?"
"Nar, found it now!"
"Do you think we have enough to start putting them in the book yet?"
"Probably, the pile is getting really messy"
