Adam's P.O.V.

Throughout this week Penelope has been ignoring me, and it hurts seeing my mate avoiding me.

She's been avoiding everyone in fact, except for Leanne. My wolf was jealous of her, but he was sort of glad that she wasn't completely silent to everyone.

At lunch, Leanne and her would get another table for themselves and if one of  us joins them, they would just leave to another table.

I ran my hand through my hair as I worked on my Alpha stuff. "Adam dear!" I heard my mother yell out.

"Yea?" I replied when she entered the room. "So, when is your mate going to come over?" She said, sitting on one of the chairs in front of my desk. "I don't know mom." I said, signing one of the papers.

"Invite her over tomorrow!" My mother said. I set down the pen I was holding and scratched the back of my head. "Er, about that." I said.

"What? What?! Tell me!" My mom said, coming closer. "She recently got braces and well... I held her down while she was getting them." I sighed.

"WHAT?! WHY?" My mom said, sitting back down on the chair. "She was being stubborn and didn't want to get the braces but she had too!" I defended myself.

"And now she's probably giving you the silent treatment?" My mom said, looking at the pictures she took. I nodded my head.

She sighed, "Well make sure  you don't lose your only mate. Once you lose her, you lose her forever." My mom said, walking out of the door.

I let out the breath I was holding and placed my head on my desk.

I lifted my head off the desk, a new determination growing. I'm going to make her talk to me.

The next day when I saw Penelope, I went up to her and threw her over my shoulder. I heard her gasped before she start struggling.

When I reached my car, I gently set her down and put her in the passenger's seat. I buckled her seat belt before going over to my side.

I locked the doors before starting the engine.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Penelope's arms crossed over her chest and her staring at out of the window.

"Penelope, I'm sorry." I started, turning a right. I didn't get a reply back, as I expected so I kept going, "I know the braes hurt, and I don't like seeing you hurt." I said.

"Then why did you watch them?" She whispered. "What do you mean?" I said,  looking at her for a few seconds before turning back to look at the road.

"You could have done something," Penelope whispered again, "but you did nothing."

"Penny, those are supposed to help you. I want to help you in every way possible, but I never want to see you hurt, ever."

I pulled the car over, looking at her. "Penelope, you're my mate. I want to take care of you and protect you." I said, touching her cheek.

"It's only because of the mate bond, right? If it wasn't  for the mate bond you'll probably won't even know I existed." She said, looking at her lap.

"It's not because of the bond," I assured her, "I'd know that you existed because you're in my classes." I said.

"No, you would probably be talking to your friends or something. You would probably pick someone else than me to be your girlfriend. If the Moon Goddess did not pick our mates, you would probably pick someone beautiful."

I held her face to make her look at me, "Penelope. You are beautiful. You're the most beautiful girl I've laid my eyes on." I confessed.

Penelope blushed making my wolf go crazy.

I let go of her face, my wolf disappointed, "Penelope," I said. "Yeah?" Was her reply, I took a deep breath, "Do you maybe want to come over to my house to eat sometime?" I asked.

Penelope stared at me, "Uh... Sure. I'd love to." Penelope said. I grinned like an idiot, "Great. Does tomorrow sound okay?" She nodded.

"I think you should drive me home now. Phoenix will be worrying where I am at." I nodded my head before doing a U-turn and driving my mate back home.

When I dropped her off, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. I walked into the pack house and into my parent's room. My mom was sitting on the bed reading a book when she jumped looking at me. "Goodness!"

"Mom, Penelope's coming over tomorrow for dinner." I said. My mom looked at me to see if I was kidding, but when she knew I wasn't she walked out of the door, probably going to prepare some food for tomorrow.

I skipped back to my own room, taking a quick shower. I put on my boxers, jumping on to my bed. The only thing going through my mind was the dinner tomorrow.

Sorry this one took longer. Short chapter, fell asleep writing this one. :/

I don't think I can go any further. (That's what she said.) So I shall end it here.

FEAR NO MORE. I will update as soon as I wake up and will be adding more chapters to the marathon. I'm sorry for breaking my promise in making non stop updates, I never knew writing makes me exhausted.

Again, sorry for your hopes getting crushed, I, myself is disappointed in myself.

(I'm terrible at keeping promises, but I will update at least five more times before my break ends!)

Until next time,

-Waff.

P.S. I'm realllly sorry! D:
