Chapter 38: Marshmallows

Penelope's P.O.V.

I slowly opened my eyes and was met with a couch. I was still on top of Adam, while he was still sleeping.

"You know, staring is rude right?" I was startled when I heard his voice. I felt my neck and cheeks heat up. I put my head back down.

He sat up, carrying me with him so I was straddling his waist. He carried me to the bathroom, "Do you want to brush your teeth first or shower?" He questioned me. "Brush my teeth." I replied.

"Okay, I'll shower and then we'll switch. Is that fine with you?" Adam asked me. I nodded my head, "As long as you don't peek."I said. "Fine, fine. Deal."

He placed me down gently and started taking off his shirt. I quickly turned around and covered my eyes, my cheeks heating up in a blush again.

"Are you in the shower yet?" I questioned him. "Yeah. You can turn around now." After he said that, I heard the water running.

I took my toothbrush and started doing my morning routine. 

I heard the shower stop, "Are you done?" Adam said. "I'm already turned around." I said.

I heard the curtains slide to a side and I was assuming Adam got out. "Okay, I'm dressed." I turned around only to see him in his sweats.

I covered my eyes again, but looked through my fingers. I saw Adam grinning, "You can look all you want, but it's your turn to shower."

"Can I take a bath instead?" I questioned. "As you wish, your majesty." He said with a bow.

I got excited really quick and started up a bath and putting a lot of soap. "Can you.. Um.. Turn around?"

He turned around, still brushing his teeth. I quickly stripped out of my clothes, tied my hair in a bun and went into the bath. I turned off the water when I felt like it was at an appropriate water level.

"You can turn back around now." I said, already playing with the bubbles that formed.

Adam spit out the toothpaste and looked at me. He shrugged and went back to his morning routine.

When he was done, he asked, "Are you ready to get out yet?"

I smiled, "No." And then put the foam on his nose. I giggled before retreating back to my corner. "I think you got something there." I pointed to his nose.

He wiped the foam off his nose before pulling me gently to him and putting foam on my chin. "I see you've grown a beard."

I wiped off the foam on my chin, "It seem you've grown white hair." I said before putting foam in his still wet hair.

He growled slightly but smiled.

Adam ended up in the bath with me, but on the other side. I was giggling because I gave him a beard and a foam nose.

"You're laughing now, but just wait until I put foam on your nose."

"That is if you can." I challenged him. Adam was stalking near me, but I sneezed before he got to me.

"We've been in this bath too long. The water is turning colder." He said worriedly. "Okay." I said, disappointed.

Adam turned around so he could let me get dressed first and then himself. "Are you okay? Are you cold?" He asked.

"I'm fine. I think it was just one sneeze."

I laid back on the bed, already tired again. "Come on, you need to eat."

I nodded my head and stood up. Adam opened the door for me and followed me to the kitchen.

Cameron, Eve, Charlie, Mason and Leanne were already there talking about something. Some other pack members were there also, but just to grab something before leaving.

"Are you feeling better now?" Leanne asked me, and I nodded my head. "Just sore."

"It's healing, right?" Charlie asked me this time, and I nodded my head again. It was healing at a normal pace, I think.

Adam got me my favorite cereal, as of now, Lucky Charms.

I swirled the cereal around, just looking for the marshmallows. "Are you going to eat anything besides the marshmallows?" Charlie asked me.

I shrugged and pushed the bowl in front of me, indicating that I didn't want it. "That's all you're going to eat?" Adam asked me, and I nodded.

"You barley ate half, Penny."

"There's no more marshmallows." I said, looking at the cereal like it was mocking me.

"If I gave you a bowl of marshmallows, would you eat it?" Adam asked, taking something out of a bag.

"Yes, but it has to be the Luck Charms marshmallows."

He pulled the rectangular box and when I saw it, I would already be out of my seat, but my injury still hurts.

The box said, 'Lucky Charms Marshmallows" on the front.

Adam came towards me, took my bowl and poured out the contents. He poured the marshmallows into the bowl before pouring more milk.

"Thank you." I said quietly, when he placed the bowl in front of me. I slowly started eating the marshmallows, wanting to savor the taste.

I finished the cereal and gave it to Adam to wash. When I turned back around, I realized that Leanne left.

"Where did Leanne go?" I questioned. "She had to go meet with her mate." Eve answered, smiling at me.

Her mate? "Oh."

I slouched in my chair, placing my head on the table.

I suddenly got up from my seat and walked slowly back into the bedroom. I looked through the closet and found my headphones.

I pulled the drawer from the nightstand and got my phone, plugging in my headphones in the device, I started listening to music.

I instantly calmed down, listening to my favorite music.

I didn't want to stay in the silence for long, but I didn't know what to say.

Blasting my music higher, I turned to my side and stared out the window. 

Soon, I felt myself drifting to sleep.

I decided to update again, since I was always so late with my updates nowadays.

Times like these will happen rarely, or maybe more often..
