"Mommy!" A little girl yelled. She ran forward and jumped into Riley's arms. Riley just picked her up and carried her over to the desk, signing her name. The little girl seemed psyched to see her mother, bouncing up and down in Riley's arms, gripping her tightly.

Lucas smiled at the scene in front of him. Even when Riley was telling him about Alice, she didn't seem this happy. This was a new side of Riley, one he could tell she was like when she was with family. Riley turned around and smiled at him, and Alice even took her eyes off her mother to look at Lucas. Riley carried Alice towards Lucas, and then set her daughter down.

"I signed you out, so you are going to spend the day with me and Gavin, and maybe at the end of the day, before I have to sign you in, maybe we can see Maya, Farkle, and Sarah."

"Do we have to see Sarah? She doesn't like me."

"Of course she likes you. Who couldn't like you? You're adorable." Lucas said, holding hands with Alice. She smiled at him, and Lucas couldn't help himself but to smile back.

Alice slipped out of Lucas's hands and leaned over to Riley, who bent down. "Mommy, is he going to be my new Daddy?" She asked, and Riley's face instantly turned red with embarrassment. Lucas stifled a laugh, and smiled at Alice, not knowing what to do.

"Alice, sweetie, that is not a question that's okay for you to ask." Riley said. "I'm sorry."

"No, it's okay, really." Lucas said. "So Alice, what would you like to do today?" He said, and Alice looked deep in thought about the question he just asked.

"Can we go ice skating?" Alice asked.

"Sure." Lucas said at the same time that Riley shook her head no. They exchanged a look. "Let's go sweetie. I think I saw a sign for an ice rink a couple miles down the road." Lucas finished, and once in the car, Lucas drove, and Riley helped Alice into the carseat.

"Why did you say yes to ice skating?" Riley asked him, once she had put on headphones for Alice, since she didn't want her daughter to hear their conversation. Lucas smiled.

"Trust me Riley, it'll be fun." Lucas said.

"Gavin, the last time I went ice skating, I was twelve and I broke my ankle." She paused. "I can't skate Gavin. I know it's embarrassing, but it's just the way I am."

"You don't have to be scared. I'll hold onto your hand, and I'll help you. And if you fall, I'll make sure that everything is okay." Lucas said, taking one of his hands of the steering wheel and grabbing Riley's hand. She smiled when she saw how perfectly their hands fit together.

"Gavin." She whispered.

"I know." He said, pulling up the driveway to the ice rink.

"We're here sweetie." Riley said, unbuckling Alice. Alice jumped out of the car, and holding her mother's hand in her left hand, and Lucas's in her right, they ran to the pay window. The little girl bounced up and down as Lucas paid for their rental skates and ice time.

Not only did Lucas lace up Alice's skates, he laced up Riley's. She had looked embarrassed that he had to help her, but when she saw his genuine smile, her face went back to its normal color.

"This is so much fun." Alice cheered, skating in front of her mother and Lucas. Riley gripped Lucas's hand tightly whenever she felt unstable, and Lucas didn't mind.

"You know Gavin." Riley paused. "This is really fun actually. Thank you."

"Don't thank me just yet." Lucas replied, picking Riley up off her feet and lifting her above his head, spinning her. She landed perfectly on her feet, doing a backwards crossover, and turning it into a one-foot spin. She laughed, until she fell to the ground. Lucas gave her a hand up.

"Again?" Riley asked, when Alice skated over, doing a hockey styled stop. She looked up at Lucas.

"Can you do that to me Gavin?" Alice asked, and Lucas shrugged, lifting Alice off the ground, and spinning her in the air, when he put her down she skated off, and Lucas immediately grabbed Riley's hand, and they skated forward to catch up to her.

"You can't skate too far ahead sweetie." Riley said. Alice frowned, and they got off the ice, grabbing hot chocolate. "It's getting late. We have to sign you back in, we can't stop and go see Maya and Farkle." Riley said, and Alice looked sad, but then she sighed.

"Mommy, do I have to go back to that school for third grade?"

Riley and Lucas exchanged a look.

"I don't know sweetie. Maybe. I'm not sure, it depends. I'll try my best." Riley said, and they got in the car. "Did you have a good time Alice?" Riley asked her daughter.

"The best. Can you guys come visit me again soon?" Alice asked.

Before Riley could answer, Lucas spoke up. "Really soon, we promise." Lucas said, and Riley nodded at him. He smiled back at her.

After signing Alice back in, Riley and Lucas slid into the car. "Gavin, you made a promise we might not be able to keep." She said, sighing.

"You're daughter misses you. You need to be there for her." Lucas said, and they started the long drive back to the hotel they were staying at. Lucas finally spoke up again after a few minutes of silence. "My Mom left my family for a little while when I was young. It devastated my whole family. I think that maybe you should spend some more time with her."

"This is my daughter and my family Gavin. You can't tell me what to do."

"I was giving my opinion."

They drove once again in silence. This time, it was Riley who spoke up. "You know the reason I don't visit her very often. I'm afraid that what we do for a living might get out, and that she won't love me."

"Riley, that little girl adores you. I think she would rather be with her mother than not have her mother in her life very much." Lucas said. "But, what do I know." He finished, and they got out of the car and stormed up to their hotel rooms.

Question of the Day: What did you do for Thanksgiving?

My Answer: I went over to my Grandparents and my family had dinner with them as well as my great aunt and uncle. We watched some football and played a game called the Mexican Train Game. We had different pies for dessert.

What did you guys do?
