Song of the Day: For You, by All That Remains

"Okay, here's the thing Friar. You kind of went rogue and didn't follow orders, which leaves you with two options, and personally I don't care which you choose." Director Abrams said, pacing in front of Lucas. The two men were talking in Lucas's apartment, and the Director paused. "Option one. You go to prison for the crimes you did, and if you plead guilty, I may persuade the judge to give you parole after ten years of serving time. Or..." Director Abrams paused again, as if he were waiting for Lucas to say something. Lucas said nothing, but didn't take his eyes off of Director Abrams for a minute, not even blinking. "Or, you could fulfill your mission and bring Maya Hart, Farkle Minkus, and Sarah Lincoln to justice, and kill Riley Matthews. I'm afraid you must choose one or the other, there's no way around it." He said. "I really like you Friar, and I know you'll make the right decision."
The Director walked away, slamming the front door of Lucas's apartment behind him. "You can come out now." He yelled, and Maya and Josh came out of their hiding place in Lucas's closet.
"Gee, you think there would be more than two options." Maya said, plopping down on the couch, and Josh grabbed three beers from the fridge, bringing them out, and handed a beer each to Lucas and Maya, then he opened his own bottle, sitting next to Maya on the couch.
"I'm not turning you guys in, and there is no way in hell that I'm going to kill Riley." Lucas paused.
"You can't be serious about turning yourself in man." Josh said, gulping a sip of beer.
"What else am I supposed to do? It's not like I have an indefinite amount of options that I can pick and choose from. I'm not going to let any of you get hurt." He said.
"You can't help any of us from behind bars Lucas. You're no good that way." Maya said, and Josh and Lucas turned to stare at her, as she downed quite a bit of beer. "What? I speaketh the truth. Tell me I'm wrong, I dare you." She said, and neither of the boys dared to challenge her.
"I'm not going to turn you in. I have to turn myself in." Lucas said.
"Well, that would be one hell of an apology to Riley." Josh said, and Lucas turned to look at him.
"Drive me to the airport please?" Lucas asked, and Maya nodded, and the three got up, driving Lucas off to the airport to head to Canada.

"Well hello again dear. What has it been, two months." The lady at the front desk said, looking at Lucas. "You going to need another favor FBI boy?" Lucas nodded.
"Yep, I need to know the address of the school that you sent Alice Friar's records to." Lucas said, showing the woman his badge. The woman smiled gently at him and went into the back room, coming out with a folder in her hands a minute or two later.
"Here you go sweetheart. All of Alice Friar's records. Is she your daughter?" The woman pried.
"No, she isn't." Lucas admitted. But it felt like curse words coming out of his mouth.
"Well, you would've thought that you were the last time you came to visit with Miss Matthews. She and little Lis left a month ago. But that night, Lis couldn't stop talking about you or her mother. I am really surprised to learn that you aren't her father." The secretary said, and Lucas flipped through the different pages of the folder until he found the one that he was looking for.
"Lis is a good girl. I miss her." Lucas said, handing the folder minus the one paper back to the lady. "Thank you. And I would really appreciate it if you could lie to anyone else that comes looking for this paper." Lucas finished, and the woman nodded.
"Your secret is safe with me." The woman said, and Lucas retreated from the building.

"Hi. I am very Special Agent Lucas Friar." Lucas said, showing his FBI badge to the lady at the front desk of Brookfield Elementary School. The lady looked at his badge and gulped. "I need the most updated version of information that you have Alice Matthews." He said.
The woman went to the back room and came back with a file in her hand, as well as a principal. Lucas stared at the principal, trying to remember where he knew him from.
Principal Yancy.
"Principal Yancy?" Lucas asked, and the principal sighed.
"Yep. I got a new job up here. It's quieter. And there's not this group of four meddlesome kids that ruin everything. You were one of those kids, I remember you Friar. So, tell me. What's your big interest with Alice Matthews?" Yancy asked, putting his hands on his hips.
"The FBI doesn't have to answer to you. And Alice is the daughter of Riley Matthews and the granddaughter of Cory and Topanga Matthews." Lucas said.
"Just take her file and go." Yancy said. Lucas took the file from the secretary and left the building. Once off property, he began to look at Alice's file.
422 Brookside Drive, Brookfield, Vermont.
Hopping in his car, Lucas loaded the address into his GPS and carefully followed the directions to the address. There weren't any cars there, but it was obvious that someone had lived there. Lucas jimmied the lock and he was inside. The house was gorgeous.
A tall christmas tree stood in the corner and a wreath lay on the door. Several other directions were hung up, including stockings. Lucas took a walk through the house, finding several bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen. A big house for two people, Lucas thought. Just as he thought, pictures of Riley and Alice lined the walls.
"Where are they?" Lucas said.
A beep went off and Lucas jumped, but it was only the answering machine. "Hey Riles, it's Dad. Judging by the way you're not answering, I take it that you and Alice already left for our house. Can't wait to see you home for Christmas. Love you. Bye. Oh, and Auggie said to say that he misses you and Lis. See you in a couple hours hopefully. Bye." Mr. Matthews said, and the line clicked off.
"Well, I'm going to New York." Lucas said, walking out of the house and hopped in his car, driving away.
