"Gavin. I need you to take out the security system." Maya said through the comms unit, and she did a somersault onto the fire escape from the roof above. "Gavin, I meant now."

"Sorry, this security system is trickier than we thought." Lucas said, pausing. "I've tried all the passwords we've discussed, but it's not any of them. It's only a matter of time before the alarm people call the police and then we'll be busted." Lucas finished.

"Did you try her daughter's birthday?" Farkle asked, as Lucas was typing a pin number into the key pad. 071800, he typed, looking up at Farkle, and the machine beeped, saying it was wrong.

"Well, that didn't work." Lucas mumbled. "Was Old Lady Paxton married to anyone else before her current husband?" He asked, and Farkle looked through the papers he had, then showed the clipboard to Lucas, who furiously typed in the code. 110669.

"Nope." Lucas said, and suddenly the machine in front of him started to flash. "Shit, it's notifying the police. I think we're just gonna have to break in." He said, kicking down the door. Once the door was down, he and Farkle shared a look.

"Did you know that was going to work?" Farkle asked.

"Nope." Lucas lied. He'd kicked down many doors in the past, but back then, he was doing it on the justice side of the law, and now he was breaking it. It kind of felt good.

"Gavin, Farkle." Maya said again, and she ran into the kitchen.

"How'd you get in?" Lucas asked.

"I shot a couple rounds through the window, and fit my hand through to pull the window up." Maya said matter of factly. She started opening drawers, and the two boys started looking in other places.

Riley entered through the roof, leaving a hole in the ceiling. Dust and ash covered the once perfectly manicure carpet. "We need to find this thing and fast. Who knew that stealing a Faberege egg in New York would be so difficult." Riley said, and everyone raised their hands.

"The police are on the second floor. I was able to take out the elevators, but there's still the stairs, and some of these guys are really fast." Sarah said through the comms units.

"We're running out of time. The Romanov family really needs these eggs back." Riley said.

"Riley, I think I've found something." Lucas said, opening a door. Even though it was a closet, it contained many objects, gold, silver, money, and on the top shelf, the egg.

"Give me a boost." Riley said, and Maya and Lucas lifted Riley u[, and she grabbed the egg.

"Grab a couple things. They might be valuable." Farkle said, and they started filling their pockets with gold and anything else that they could reasonably carry with them. "Okay, let's get out of here. We'll have to go out the roof." Farkle said, and one by one, they helped each other through the roof.

The team ran across the roof. A ladder was let down from the helicopter Sarah was in. One by one, they climbed up the ladder. Lucas, who was at the rear, suddenly tripped, only a couple feet before the ladder. "Gavin!" Riley shouted, but it was too late. Two police officers who looked vaguely familiar were hovering over Lucas, and more were coming for the ladder. Sarah pulled up and took off flying.

"Why did you do that?" Riley yelled.

"They were going to get us. It would've been game over." Sarah shouted back, but Riley didn't hear her over her cries and the noise of the chopper.

Her Gavin was gone, taken by the police.

"Gavin Hersche, do you understand these rights as they have been read to you?" Zay asked, handcuffing Lucas. Lucas turned back to look at his ex-best friend.

"They're gone, take these things off of me." Lucas said, and Zay and Josh walked Lucas back to the van. Once inside the van, they took of the handcuffs on Lucas, and Lucas looked relieved, the stress on his hands was off. He looked at the boys. "Was this really necessary?"

"Yes. After talking to the director, we decided that you were too close to the case." Zay said, standing up. Lucas jumped up from his seat and grabbed Zay by the collar, pulling him up.

"You said something.What did you say!?" Lucas demanded, and Josh threw Lucas off of Zay.

"Not again man, the director already saw the bruises on him." Josh said, sitting the two men across from each other. "We are the three musketeers, and this whole case has taken our friendship a turn for the worst. Guys. We've always stuck together, and now..." He said, but Zay cut him off.

"Oh shut up! We all know that the other night you met up with Maya. You're too close to the case too." Zay said, and Lucas turned to Josh.

"You and Maya are together. That's great." Lucas said.

"Okay guys. Let's just stop. This is all a mess." Josh said.

"What are we going to do now?" Zay said.

"What are we going to do now? What are we going to do now? That's it Josh, can I kill him now?" Lucas said, trying to stand up, but Josh pushed him back down.

"The director said that we have to go straight to the FBI. We'll figure out what to do from there." Josh said, and Zay went up to the front to drive. Lucas hit the padding on the side of the car. "Dude, you've got to calm down. We'll get you back to Riley again soon."

"No. The sad thing is that I can never see Riley again. I lied to her, and she's never going to forgive me." Lucas said. "Oh Josh, what did I do wrong?"

"You did what you had to do. It's all on the job. You never meant to fall in love."

"You're right. I never meant to fall in love. But I am not going to go back into her life just to hurt her. I am not going to hurt her. Josh, I have never felt this way about anyone before. Riley has changed me. You know, back in seventh grade, when we met, she changed me for the better. When I left. She changed. When I came back into the picture she started to shift tides a little too. I know we're good together. But Riley will kill me for lying to her. You should know, she's your niece."

"Yeah I know. And I know you'll make the right decision about all of this." Josh said, walking to the front of the van to sit with Zay. Lucas remained in the backseat, all alone.

"Anyone still have their earpieces in?" He whispered.

"Everyone took them out except for me."

Riley.

"I'll bring you back Gavin, I'll find you."

"No Riley. You'll get arrested. Think about Alice." Lucas choked out. "I'm doing this because I love you." Lucas said. "I love you too." Riley said, but it was too late, as Lucas ripped the earwig out of his ear and stomped on it. Riley sobbed as she heard the electronic device screech. Lucas sobbed too.
