Jack's POV
Elsa's friend was... Nice to meet. I don't know why, I just feel very uncomfortable when I see the two of them together. I keep telling myself to snap out of it but it won't work. Calm down there Jack, Evan is just Elsa's good friend, so why should you feel weird? They're just childhood friends, they haven't seen each other for years. I can understand that they want some time to bond and catch up with things. I gotta admit, they're getting awfully close. It's almost as near as me and Elsa's best friend relationship.
Am I jealous? No, I can't be jealous! Just because Elsa's spending a little more time with Evan today doesn't mean I have to be jealous! But then again, I'm afraid she's falling for him... Nonsense, Elsa doesn't love anyone! Yet I might add.
Pretty much all day long Elsa sat with Evan. Luckily there were people that I know and comfortable with to sit with. Once or twice I turned back, glancing at Elsa and Evan. Yeah, I think I AM jealous!
Finally for the last class and school's over. Perfect, I knew nobody for this class. I have like how many friends in this school and yet not single one of them is in this class! Just perfect. Those girls are gonna swarm over me. Don't they ever stop?!
I pushed open the door and saw someone. Fortunately, Evan happened to be in this class. Oh well, I kinda know him, might as well sit with him. I took a deep breath and walked to him.
"Oh hey! Jackson, am I right?" Evan smiled at me.
"Just Jack will do." I smiled back.
"Elsa told me a lot about you. Do sit down." Evan said, and so I did.
"Well, Elsa's very happy that you're here." I stated.
"Yeah, I can't be happier either. I really missed her, she was such a great friend. And time has allowed us to see each other again." Evan explained. "This time, I hope I don't lose her again."
I hope I don't lose her either... I said in my mind. Could Elsa really fall for a boy like Evan? Chances are kinda high, childhood friends now in high school and such. And it's not ordinary childhood friends, it's separated childhood friends, meeting each other again in high school. High school is like literally the place you can fall in love randomly. Like me falling for Elsa!
"Since when did you get to know Elsa?" I asked Evan.
"Since I was 4, I think. We were neighbours so it was quite easy." Evan replied.
"I see." I sighed. I just have to ask him this. "Evan, I have to know, do you like Elsa?"
"Of course! As a friend...?" Evan gave me a questioning look. "Why? Oh, are you Elsa's boyfriend? Sorry if I'm interrupting. Weird, she said you were only her best friend."
"No,no, I'm not her boyfriend." I chuckled nervously. Apparently, Evan knows nothing about the dare yet. Guess Elsa's already too annoyed with this dare, it'll frustrate her even more saying it. "What about you? Any intentions to be HER boyfriend?"
"Um... Maybe? She's a great girl. Come on, let's not rush these things. Elsa's very practical. Things that haven't changed about her is her personality and attitude. Even since we were young she acted like this."
And Evan just went on and on. Where is a teacher when you need one to shut someone up?! I'm just pretending to listen, but I can't even pretend! I just can't stop worrying about Elsa. Alarm bells are ringing in my head.
"Jack?" Evan gave me a nudge.
"What?" I asked, annoyed.
"Uh that girl wanted to give you this?" He handed me a slip of paper, pointing to a girl caked with make up, waving at me.
"Just throw it away, it's junk." I rolled my eyes.
"Guess you're the popular boy here huh?" Evan grinned.
"It's not that great being popular, it's horrible. Many people want to be popular, but they don't know what happens next." I explained.
"I see." Evan nodded.
I think I fell asleep for the rest of the class, again. What else is new. Sleeping, dreaming, in class is normal for me. But dreaming about Elsa is amazing!
The loud bell snapped me out of sleep. I yawned, picked up my books and went to the door. I totally forgot about Evan until I approached Elsa.
"Evan!" Elsa waved. I turned around, seeing Evan behind me. Damn, I thought she was waving at me.
"Hi Elsa." Evan smiled. "Hey, how about I take you home? We can do more catching up or something. Besides, I gotta know which neighborhood you live in. You got a lot of homework?"
"I'll get them done, that'll be great! Let's go." Elsa held his hand.
I swear, my blood was boiling when I saw that. Even worse, it was right there, in front of me, way too close for me to see. Yes, YES I AM JEALOUS!
"So, guess that cancels me to send you home?" I forced a smile. "You take care of the lady, Evan."
"Relax, I will." Evan giggled. "She's in good hands."
"Thanks anyway Jack, but I would like to spend time with Evan." Elsa replied.
Anna came running behind Elsa, giving her a small surprise. "Someone's a little over excited." Anna teased.
"Oh be quiet." Elsa blushed.
"Shall we be going?" Evan asked. "Anna as well?"
"Nah, I think there's a little someone who wants to be alone with you." Anna pointed to Elsa. Elsa blushed again.
"If you say so." Evan nodded and walked off with Elsa.
There was this awkward silence with Anna. I didn't know what to do, casually walk away or talk to her.
"Um... Crazy day huh? Old friend reunion?" I blurted out. Really nice Jack, that's how you start a conversation?!
"Yeah, Elsa's overjoyed." Anna smiled sweetly.
I just wanted to get the hell outta here. "I gotta go, see you tomorrow!" I said and quickly exited school without looking back at Anna.
This dare is just getting harder and harder each day. More obstacles will come, what next?
