I woke up in my bed with an insane amount of guilt. I mean, Chanyeol and I just made out for a long time, but I felt like I had been disloyal. He wasn't my bias. Even if he's the only one in Exo to give me any attention. And besides...I wasn't supposed to do anything with the boys. One day had passed and I was already breaking the rules.
I got up and ready, only taking an hour to get ready today. There was a knock on my door and I opened it to see Chanyeol, leaning on the wall in front of me. "Hey," he said, biting his lip.
"Okay, this is too much," I said, glancing over to see Kai eyeing us from his doorway down the hall. "You can't...we can't do this. We have to keep this professional. Let's just pretend nothing happened yesterday, okay?"
"You didn't seem to want to act professional yesterday," Chanyeol said, leaning in.
Kai said something to Chanyeol in Korean, and Chanyeol rolled his eyes and walked into his dorm. "Ready to eat breakfast?" Kai asked me.
"I don't eat breakfast."
"You will today."
"Where's D.O?" I asked. "Or...are you D.O? I'm sorry, I'm bad with names."
"Yeah right," Kai said. "If you want me to keep quiet, you will eat breakfast with me."
"Quiet about what?"
Kai smirked. "I know you and Chanyeol slept together."
"No! We just made out, I swear!" I was panicking. How did he even find out?
Kai chuckled. "Either way, that's not allowed. I could get you fired faster than Sehun's hair color changes."
"Shit. Okay. I'll go to breakfast with you, D.O." I turned to grab my prox card so I could eat downstairs in the cafeteria. Before I could get far, Kai grabbed my shoulder and pulled me back.
"I know you know my name. Being in the situation you're in, I wouldn't call me someone else's name if I were you."
"Okay, okay," I said, and he let me go. I grabbed my prox card and my phone, seeing it flash messages from my family back home. They would have to wait.
I quietly walked with Kai down all the stairs to the first floor. "Why didn't we take the elevator?" I asked, out of breath. This was the most physical exercise I had done in a long time.
"I'm not allowed to take the elevator."
I made the mistake of laughing. Gosh, I wish I hadn't laughed.
Kai whipped around to face me on the landing, and him towering over me enough to intimidate me. I was actually about to poop my pants I was so scared. "Laugh about it again, I dare you."
"I'm sorry, it was just the way you said it-"
"No, you don't get it. It's people like you who...take away my rights."
"What?"
"Just shut up." We got to the cafeteria, got our food, and sat down.
I glanced at his food, consisting of fruits. I felt like a potato for choosing the bacon and biscuits and gravy. "Are you not allowed to eat what you want too?" I asked in the nicest tone possible so he wouldn't get mad.
He glared at me. "I don't remember the last time I had bacon, if that answers your question."
"I didn't know. Okay? I'm sorry."
Kai shook his head. "What are you even doing here? You're just going to cause this band more pain."
"What? No..I want to be a good manager. Really."
Kai gave me a dirty look. "Okay, and you can quit the clueless act. I know you know who Exo is. You know all our names, I bet you were a fan. An Exo-L."
"No.."
"Yeah. Dont lie to me. You don't want to lie to me right now."
I rolled my eyes. "Okay. But please, I'm not supposed to like any of you.. I could get fired."
Kai laughed. "You fake not being a fan, yet you go make out with Chanyeol. That makes a lot of sense."
"Okay, but Chanyeol is really hot. I thought I was stronger than that."
Kai shook his head. "Not good enough for me."
"Where is D.O, anyway?" I asked.
"At the airport welcoming the others. Lay and Tao. The other Korean idiots will come tonight."
"Is Kaisoo real?" I blurted.
Kai dropped his food on his plate, glaring at me. "Shut up."
"What did you say to Chanyeol in Korean?" I asked. "That made him leave."
"I told him if he doesn't leave you alone I'll get you fired."
"Really?"
"Yeah. And I did that to save his butt and not yours. Chanyeol is like a brother to me and I can't watch him get into a relationship that will hurt him and everyone here."
"Wait, a relationship? I thought Chanyeol wanted to hook up.."
"No. I've seen the way he looks at you. He hasn't looked at anyone that way in a long time. But don't let that get into your head. If I find out you and Chanyeol do anything else, I'll tell Kim J. And don't think you can sneak around, either. I know everything."
"Fine," I said. "To think you were actually above Chanyeol on my bias list at one time."
Kai looked at me from his plate of food. "What? I was above Chanyeol? I thought he was your bias."
"No, of course not."
"So I'm your bias?"
"No, definitely not."
"Okay, I was your bias. Before today, right?"
"No? You're number two."
"Who's your bias, then?"
"Like I'd tell you," I said, getting up to throw things away.
At the trash bin, I turned around to have Kai block me against the wall. "Jongin," I said, barely breathing. Wait, was I even allowed to call him that? There was a reason he was number 2. "Kai, there are people around. What are you doing?"
"You're going to tell me your bias."
"Shit," I said. "Please, you're going to get me into trouble."
"Then tell me and I won't get you fired."
"Fine! It's Xiumin. Okay?"
"Kai!" A strong voice exclaimed. Kai moved out of my way, and we saw Kim J staring at us. "Kai, a word in my office."
Kai gave me one last glance before he followed Kim J.
He's going to get me fired.
