My jaw was still hanging open when Kim J handed me the key to my room on the same floor as the entire band of Exo. Entire band? No. The remaining ten members of Exo.
"If you need help moving your stuff in, some of the boys might be able to help you," Kim J said.
I looked at him. "The boys?"
"Yeah, the boys...like Chanyeol, Kai,...D.O....do I have to list the rest?"
"Oh," I said. "Okay." I turned to the elevator because the floor I would be living on was the 8th floor and just going up the stairs to the 2nd floor actually killed me. I arrived to the floor and slowly and quietly looked past every door for the correct number.
I was at the end of the hall.
Which meant I would have to walk by every room of theirs before I got to mine. What if a door was open and they would talk to me? I wasn't a fan anymore - I couldn't be. I was a manager now. I had to act professionally.
And to do that...I had to pretend I was never a fan.
I set my stuff in my dorm, locked up again, and set out to my moving van parked eight stories below. This would be fun.
As I was walking down the hallway, someone burst out a door of one of the rooms. A large body collided with mine at a huge force. I looked at him, and my heart stopped. Park Chanyeol. He looked at me, and steadied me with his hands on my shoulders, and said something in what I assumed was Korean.
"What?" I asked. "I'm sorry, I don't know any Korean whatsoever."
"Are you okay?" He asked, seeming irritated. "What are you doing up here?"
"I'm your new manager. I'm Amelia Lawson."
His facial expression changed, and he and quickly bowed. "I'm sorry. Do you need help moving in?"
"Uh, maybe. If that doesn't inconvenience you or anything."
"No? It's not like we have anything better to do before practices start up. It's just me, Kai, and D.O that are here right now. The others are flying in tomorrow... The party doesn't start until Sehun and Baekhyun get here anyway."
"Okay," I said. "I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name."
Chanyeol's face went blank. "Oh, you don't know. I'm Chanyeol."
"It is very nice to meet you, Chanyeol."
He nodded and walked down the hall and opened a door. "D.O, Kai - come help our new manager with her stuff and moving in. And don't cuddle like that... I think she's from America. That looks weird to them."
The two dudes came out of the room. D.O looked so much shorter than I imagined, if I wore heels, I'd tower over him. And Kai was so hot. Oh my gosh. "Amelia, this is D.O, and Kai. Guys, this is our new manager, Amelia."
I greeted them, shaking hands and what not, and we spent the afternoon going up and down the SM building to move into my dorm. D.O and Kai went back to their dorm, but Chanyeol walked me back to my room. "Kai, right?" I blurted. I hated myself.
"No, Chanyeol. Kai is the one with dark skin."
"Oh, shoot. I'm sorry. I'm really bad with names. How many of you are there again?"
Chanyeol exhaled, then looked mad. "10. You should do your research before you accept a job to be a manager."
My eyes widened when I realized where I had gone with that. "Oh shit," I said. "No. Oh my gosh." I grabbed his arm and pulled him into my dorm, shutting the door behind me. My hands went to my hair and I pulled, but obviously not that hard to pull chunks out. "Shit, Chanyeol."
"What are you doing?" He asked. "Why did you bring me in here-"
"To tell you the freaking truth. I went too far, I'm so sorry. I'm actually a huge fan and I'm pretending I don't know anything because I'm a manager. I cannot be a fan and a manager."
"Ohh," Chanyeol said. "Wow. So you really know everyone's names?"
"Yeah. And I am so sorry I asked about how many of you there were. Are you...okay? With what happened last year?"
"I think we're all doing better-"
"No, I'm asking how you're doing. Not the band."
Chanyeol looked at me, his eyes softening. "I mean, they left. It sucks...its just not the same anymore."
I nodded. "I'm sorry."
"No, I'm sorry. You're a fan-"
"Shh. No I'm not. Okay? Don't you ever bring that up."
Chanyeol nodded, then smiled. "I think I'm going to like you as a manager."
"Huh? Why?" I couldn't help but be mesmerised by Chanyeol's smile. There was something about it that made me melt. He was stepping closer to me, and I kept backing up until I backed into the wall. He put his hands on my waist and leaned closer.
"Who's your bias, anyway?" Chanyeol asked.
My heart was racing too fast for this. Chanyeol wasn't my bias. But what if my bias didn't even like me, or want to have anything to do with me? He was quite a bit older than me. I had just turned 21, and Chanyeol was closer to my age. But when his lips met mine, I let it happen.
