The next morning, I had a text from Kim J to meet him in his office. Nervous, wondering if he somehow found out from last night with Xiumin, I walked over across the building to his office.

I knew I was fired.

I knocked on the closed door and slowly opened it, peaking in. "You wanted to see me?"

"Uh, yes. Come in." Kim J waved me in, and started clearing his desk of papers. "This has been a busy week, and it's only going to get more busy. Tomorrow we figure out how we will dish out lines."

"We?" I asked.

"Yes. You, me, and the vocal coach team. They are all aware of their vocal strengths and limitations. For instance, we won't be giving D.O anything high - that's for Baekhyun and Chen. And maybe Xiumin. We'll see tomorrow if he's improved on vocal control."

I nodded.

"Anyway, along with the passing out of lines, I need to know how everyone is doing with learning the choreography. Obviously if they are not doing well with choreography we can't give them a ton of lines."

"Oh. Um," I started thinking.

"I need you to be completely honest. None of this 'I'm trying to help them' shit. This will help the band."

"Okay," I said. "I'll just go through all of them, then."

"Tell me about D.O. How's D.O doing?" Kim J asked.

"He's doing really well. Sometimes I notice him singing while dancing... this early, I mean. Everyone else is struggling just getting the moves down."

"Thought so. Suho?"

"Good. He seems to be very concentrated."

"Sehun?"

I cringed. I had to tell the truth. "Sehun needs more work. He forgets moves and it's a little sloppy."

Kim J nodded. "We all know about Sehun. Thank you for being honest. That was a test for you. Okay, how about Chen?"

"Chen is doing so well lately. He's struggled before, but he's definitely most improved."

Kim J nodded. "Chen will be getting a lot of lines this time. Tell me about Baekhyun."

"Great. I don't have a lot of complaints about him."

"Chanyeol?"

"Good. He's so positive during practices."

"I'm not asking about the character, Amelia. I'm asking about the strengths and weaknesses. Mm, tell me about Kai."

I remembered last night. I wanted my revenge, to keep them from thinking they had power over me. I want to help them, but they have to believe me. "I don't get it. Kai is a strong dancer, but he hasn't been focused lately. He's not as strong of a dancer as he was."

Kim J leaned back, and made a face. "Kai? Really? He's one of the best dancers."

"I know that, but he's not showing it during practices."

Kim J's eyebrows pressed together, and he leaned forward, looking at me. "Now why is that?"

"I have no idea."

"Hm. Tell me about Tao."

"Good. Very focused."

Kim J nodded. "Xiumin?"

I exhaled. "He needs to clean his moves. Sometimes he's forgetful, more than the others. I'm not very impressed by him lately."

Kim J nodded, writing stuff down. "Okay. Thank you, Amelia. Thanks for being honest. See you at the meeting tomorrow."

Later, Kai and Xiumin saw me from across the lounge and they walked over to me. They didn't look happy. They probably found out about what I said about them.

Kai shoved me up against the wall, only because there was no one else around. "I'm not focused?!"

"I'm forgetful?" Xiumin demanded, standing beside Kai.

"Maybe next time you talk about me, it should not be in English," I suggested. "I heard you. Okay?"

Xiumin exhaled, throwing his head back.

"What, you're trying to get revenge? You're messing with our careers!!" Kai exclaimed.

I glared at him. "What, and my career is nothing? Ever since I got here, you have been trying to get me fired. I take my job seriously. And I love all of you, but you can't mess with me like that."

Xiumin looked at me, speechless. Kai still looked pissed. "Seriously? We all know I'm a bigger deal than you."

"I never said that." I glanced at Xiumin, and I don't know why I did. Obviously he wasn't on my side, he was on Kai's.

"Did you actually believe I was interested in you?" Xiumin asked me.

I didn't know what the right answer was. "Yeah, I did."

Xiumin chuckled. I am pathetic.

Kai laughed too. "No one would ever fall for a manager." His eyes flicked down, then back up at my face. "Especially someone like you."

"Because I'm white? Just say it, Kai. I know I'm white." I felt so trapped. Kai still had me blocked against the wall. I wanted to leave.

"No one would ever like you because you're white." Kai laughed.

My phone vibrated in my pocket, and we all heard it. I pulled out out and saw that there was a text from Kim J. I swore.

"What?" Kai asked, looking over my shoulder to read it. He said something in Korean.

"What is it?" Xiumin asked.

I looked at Xiumin. "Kim J wants to see us."
