I woke up to the sun pouring through my window and onto my face. I checked my phone to see that it was still fairly early in the morning. I walked over to my desk to check my emails.

My heart stopped.

From: Kim Tan - Big Hit Entertainment
Subject: Re: Resume

Hello Ms. Lawson,
We over at Big Hit Entertainment are intrigued by your resume and working experience here in Seoul. Are you willing to have an interview at 11am today?

I quickly replied to the email, then got ready and dressed in my more professional clothing. I wasn't supposed to leave the building, but rather check up on the practices of the boys. I decided I needed to do something for myself. Besides, if I saw Xiumin faint again, I would lose it.

I got a taxi ride over to Big Hit Entertainment. The building was new and neat, where at SM Entertainment, things were wearing down. I knew they spent most of their money on the managers and staff rather than the building and the singers and their well being. Maybe Big Hit was different.

No, it was different. I could already feel it.

I walked up to the front desk, getting flashbacks from when I did that four months ago at the SM building.

"Hi," I said to the lady. She immediately turned to me and gave me her attention. "Do you understand me?"

"Of course," she said. "My English is not the best, but I understand what you're saying. How may I help you?"

"I'm here for an interview," I said. "Can you tell me where to go?"

"Ah, it's this first floor, down this hall. I'll take you there." She walked with me, knocked on the door, and opened it to a bunch of suited men sitting around a table with one empty chair. She spoke in Korean, and then turned to me and smiled saying, "English." She left me there.

"Come in," the center man said, standing up and shaking my hand. "Amelia Lawson? I'm Kim Tan." Oh boy. Another Kim.

"It's very nice to meet you," I said, smiling, and sitting down.

"Ah. Tell us a little about yourself. They won't be saying much, because they don't speak much English, but they understand you. Do you know any Korean?" Kim Tan asked me.

"Uh, I've picked up a little." I just said it to impress, I really didn't know any. Because everyone at SM Entertainment spoke English, it was convenient. I didn't have the opportunity to work on Korean because they would just speak English to me.

"Have you considered learning Korean?"

"Yeah," I nodded.

"Okay, so you're from America? What brings you here to Seoul?" Kim Tan asked.

"I've always been interested in South Korea. I love Kpop..and I wanted to be involved with it somehow. After I got my degree, I turned in my resume and SM Entertainment hired me."

"Why don't we talk about that?" Kim Tan asked. "According to your resume, you're still working there?"

"Correct."

"Don't get me wrong. We do get SM Entertainment transfers...but we're careful with which ones we pick." Kim Tan leaned back in his chair, studying me. "You probably know why. Tell us your story with SM Entertainment. Why should we pick you?"

"I've had enough of SM Entertainment," I said. "I've heard that Big Hit takes better care of its idols. I want to be a part of that. For four long months, I've done everything in my power to try to save Exo."

Kim Tan nodded. "And Tao still left."

"There's a lot of behind the scenes stuff. I just want out."

Kim Tan leaned forward, folding his hands. "We interviewed a member from Exo to see how you really treat them."

My heart stopped. What if it was Kai? He wouldn't want me leaving SM Entertainment.. or would he, to get me away from Xiumin?

"Do Kyungsoo. He said that you were a very hard worker who put the needs of the members before your own. Life has been better since you've been there. So Amelia, why would you leave? They're doing fine with you."

"But they're not," I argued. "I'm seeing health problems..in some of the members, that I can't help. I can't watch them knowing I'm doing that to them."

Kim Tan looked at the others in the room, and they nodded. "Listen, Ms. Lawson.. We made our decision before you came in. We want to have you as an intern here. We want you to meet the band today, and think about it. The internship is for a month, and we'll decide more after the month is over. Looks like you need to get back to us after talking to your boss." Kim Tan stood up, and led me out the door. "You'd be a wonderful asset here. Please consider it."

I walked with him throughout the building. I was so shocked at how nice the interior looked. It seemed so happy.

"Do you plan on transferring back to America?" Kim Tan asked.

I thought of Xiumin. If that would ever work out, which it probably wouldn't... We were going to go back to America together. "Maybe. Eventually. I'm still young."

"That you are," Kim Tan said, opening a door. "BTS! Come meet your new intern!"

My jaw dropped, and I felt like a fangirl again. I didn't know I would be interning for BTS!

They walked over to me, all looking so happy. "Are you American?" J-Hope asked me. I nodded. "Now, English time!"

"This is great," Rap Monster said. "I'm Rap Monster, it's nice to meet you." He shook my hand.

"Have you heard our music?" Jungkook asked me.

"Uh yeah," I said, smiling. "Love it."

"You've heard of BTS and their music?" Kim Tan asked me. "Most Americans we have come through haven't."

"I even knew their names before you introduced us," I said. Then I stopped. "Is that okay?" That wouldn't have been allowed at SM Entertainment.

"Of course! It's wonderful!" Kim Tan exclaimed. "You make yourself look very good for this job."
