I quickly changed into a dress and fixed my hair and makeup when I got back to my room. I slipped on different heels that I had been wearing all day, even though I wanted to be barefoot. My feet hurt.
I called Xiumin, hoping he wasn't busy. "Hey! How was your first day?" He answered.
"It was good," I lied, trying to make sure he wouldn't be worried about me. "How was your day?"
"Great," he said. "I love my classes. I just love learning. I would even continue my education to get a doctorate degree."
My eyes widened. "Really?"
"Yeah. So, what are you up to? Are you hungry? I'm making ramen."
"That sounds really good," I said, suddenly hungry for ramen. "But I called to let you know... I have to go out to dinner with Minhyuk to discuss how to work as a team. Kim J's orders." I cringed, wondering how Xiumin would react.
"Oh," Xiumin said. "Sure." He paused. "Like dinner dinner? Did you dress up?"
"I mean...I just fixed up. And put on a dress."
"Hmm," Xiumin said. "Well, you should call me tonight."
"It'll be late," I explained.
"I don't care."
I exhaled, rolling my eyes. "Fine. I'll call you. After the practices."
"Good." Xiumin was quiet for a few seconds. "I love you, Amy."
"I love you too," I said, as there was a knock on the door. Probably Minhyuk. "Hey, can you say that again?" I asked, smiling as I walked over to the door.
"Say what?"
"That you love me."
Xiumin laughed. "I love you, Amy."
I opened the door as I said, "I love you too, Minseok." Minhyuk was standing in the hallway, and I felt successful when I knew he heard me say that. "Oh, Minhyuk. Sorry Minseok, I have to go. I'll talk to you later." I hung up. "Sorry, that was Xiumin." I grabbed my things and started walking with Minhyuk out of the SM building.
"Did you tell him about the date?" Minhyuk asked.
"Of course," I said. "He's the jealous type, you know."
We rode the taxi to the restaurant, and it was a nice one. We sat down, ordered, and resumed to silence. I mean, I definitely wasn't going to talk to him.
"Remember our first date?" Minhyuk asked. "And I kissed you."
"Hmm," I said, tilting my head. "I don't remember."
"Yes you do."
"I think I try to block that out," I said. "Usually I try to forget the rebounds."
"Whatever you say," Minhyuk said. He smiled, but it wasn't a friendly smile. "Wow, we're going to have a fun year. And it's only the first day."
I exhaled, rolling my eyes.
"So," Minhyuk said. "We should talk about work. Let's see...you're a poor excuse of a manager and they only like you because they're trying to sleep their way to the top."
"What?" I questioned.
"They all saw what happened to Xiumin when he was with you. Actually, I think everyone saw that. He got so many more lines this year."
"Yeah, because three people left the band," I said.
"Lay's going to leave," Minhyuk said. "I give him a couple of months."
I was appalled. "Are you stupid?" I asked. "Did you see him a month ago say how much EXO meant to him?"
"Oh, anyone can say that. And he's an actor. Those tears were fake."
"I thought you were the one who told me that SM is trying to hold onto him because he's the last Chinese member."
"Oh, I made that up. I mean, yeah, Lay is valuable, but let's look at the facts. Lay was absent most of 2015."
"I'm really close to walking out of here and leaving you," I said.
"Oh, but if you do that, I'll have to report you." Minhyuk smiled. "Anyway, if we're going to make this work, you have to do everything I tell you."
"Like writing stuff down? Sure. I'll do it."
"Not just that." Minhyuk smirked as the waiter came with the food.
Wait, what did that even mean?
I tried to avoid any more conversation by stuffing my face. I didn't even like some of the food, but I ate it anyway, so I wouldn't have to talk.
We went back to the SM building, and he walked me to my room. "You didn't have to walk me back to my room," I acknowledged.
Minhyuk suddenly grabbed my shoulder and pushed me up against the wall. He leaned in, but I tried to push him away. He leaned into my ear and whispered, "if you don't kiss me, I'll get you fired. And then your poor little Minseok will have to come back to EXO."
Oh Minseok...please forgive me...
"Fine," I whispered, and he leaned in and pressed his lips against mine. I expected it to be short, but he quickly got lustful and began making out with me. His hands traveled down to my butt and he squeezed it.
It had to have been at least two minutes later when he finally pulled away. "We'll have to work on that later," Minhyuk said. "I could tell you didn't want to kiss me. Anyway, see you in five minutes in the practice room." He walked away, and I quickly went into my room and closed the door, gasping for air.
I slid down to the floor, my back against the door. I held my phone in my lap, shaking. I can't tell Xiumin this.
