So I decided spring break had to end at one point. Here's another present day at SGH.

Derek's POV
(Chief Webber's Announcement)

I was standing in the small hallway with two people I thought I would never have to see again. Okay well, me and Mark we still texted and called but we never physically met each other. And the other person in the hallway was barely recognizable, but when she said her name I realized who she was. Two people from my high school, both competing with me, to become Chief of Surgery.

High School brought back terrible memories, which I can't seem to forget about. They say you should move on from you high school crush, but the thing was she was more than just a crush, and she left me broken hearted. Mark didn't know what happened between us. I never bothered to tell him. He probably moved on from high school. Probably man-whoring it up with nurses.

My friend, and mentor Richard Webber asked me visit and work at SGH. Seattle was my childhood home, until I went to college and med school and so on. I heard some clapping from Richard's office, which was our cue to enter the office. First Isobel, then Mark and finally me. When I entered everyone clapped expect three attendings. I assumed they were attendings because Richard said it the meeting was only for the head of specialties. I eyed the three disrespectful women who chose not to clap, but one of them caught my attention. That attending, was flawless. Her captivating green eyes were twinkling. It took me a minute to realize who she was. She was Meredith! My Meredith! Wait, I was supposed to hate her. She broke me. The only logical thing to do was to hate her. But something about her, couldn't make me hate her. I turned my head to see Mark's and Isobel's expressions. Mark was obviously shocked and Isobel was gleaming at the sight of Meredith. I recognized another face, Calliope Torres from high school. I heard about her TED conference, so I knew she would be working here. The other attending that wasn't clapping looked familiar but I couldn't put a name to the face.

The meeting ended shortly but Richard asked Meredith to stay behind.

"Dr. Grey, as you know these doctors will also be considered chief." He said. I was surprised, but I shouldn't have expected anything less from her. I thought she was just an attending, but actually she was the head of Neuro.

"Dr. Stevens, Dr. Sloan, and Dr. Shepherd, will follow you around the hospital today. You could give them a tour and get to know your competition."

Meredith's face was dull, she didn't want to tour her competition.

"Okay, but I have surgery at 12" she said.

"Actually Patricia forget to tell that Mr. Henderson rescheduled"

"Okay then"

"Which means you guys can have lunch together, and find out stuff about each other"

"Actually Dr. Webber, we all went to the same high school" Mark cut in.

"Really? All of you?"

We all nodded.

"Actually me and Dr. Grey were best friends" Isobel said.

"Is that so? Well funny how things work out right?"

"So damn funny" Meredith sighed, as she left the room. We all followed suit.

"Well what did Webber want?" A voice in the hallway asked Meredith.

"He wanted to give me a tour"

"Oh, I'll come with"

"Whataboutsurgery?" She mumbled.

"Not until 1"

"Okay guys, this is Dr. Christina Yang. She's the head of Cardiothoracics. Plus she's my best friend"

"Hey Cristina, I'm Izzie Stevens" Isobel offered her hand.

Cristina hesitantly shook her hand and said "I know"

"So Mark, Derek and Mer how are you guys" Izzie asked.

"I'm fine" Meredith huffed.

"I'm really good, now that I saw both my high school sweethearts" Mark flirted.

"God shut up Mark!" Meredith exclaimed.

I just chuckled, "I'm good, how bout you Isobel?"

"Please, just call me Izzie, I'm fine. Me and boyfriend just moved to Seattle and for now we're living in a hotel."

"I'm living in a hotel too, maybe we could meet up" Mark being Mark, said.

"Not in your dreams Evil Spawn" Izzie retorted. Meredith giggled.

"Iz, remember our nickname for Derek?"

"Yeah, Bambi" she said. BAMBI? That's what they called me. It was a horrible nickname, worse then Mark's.

"Hmm Evil Spawn and Bambi. Fit perfectly." Dr. Yang said. "We just might get along Dr. Stevens"

Okay so hope you guys liked that. Mark and Derek kept in touch with eachother, but weren't best friends. Izzie will probably be a main character. Comment opinions👇🏼
