[this update takes place around June, and the graduation dance is before the actual the graduation ceremony]

{also my middle school has a graduation party...although most schools don't}

"So Brian asked me out to the dance" Meredith casually just said, while taking a bite of her pasta.

George snorted up the ice tea he was drinking and Izzie gleamed with joy.

"What did you say"

"I said no thanks"

After a short pause the three friends bursted out laughing.

"Did he ask you out in front of his friends?"

"Hmm" Meredith nodded.

"Well I would have said yes" Izzie said.

"I don't want guys to think that I'm into them, especially right now" Meredith started explaining. "Kayden and Zach are planning on asking me out, it's like a competition between them, who can get their first kiss with Meredith!"

George and Izzie were silenced. They continued eating their lunch in shock from Meredith's outburst.

"Mer, you like Mark Sloan right?"

"Why do you ask?"

"Just tell me, if he asked you out would you say yes?"

"Izzie? Why are you asking me add questions?"

"Because he's coming here NOW!" Izzie exclaimed.

"Prolly-to-ask-you-out" George mumbled under his breath, but loud enough so the girls heard him.

"Dude she turned you down faster than cheetah" Owen laughed at Brian.

Brian had asked Meredith earlier that day before homeroom. He was so confident he even asked his friends to tag along to watch him. Mark, Derek, Preston, Owen and a couple of other kids all followed him. Meredith without even thinking turned him down, causing all the guys to laugh uncontrollably. Derek and Mark were relieved. But Brian was so angry at he swore right in front of her face. Meredith just shrugged and went back into class.

"Poor Sanders. Grey kicked your ass" Mark joked.

"Guys shut up!" Brian growled.

"Meredith already hurt his precious feelings, let's not do much harm to the remaining dignity he has" Derek teased. He loved that Meredith turned him down. Wait did he just say loved? Uh oh...

"GUYS! She doesn't like guys. If any of you guys asked her out she would also say no. I can bet you all my savings that she'll turn down each and one of you. I have 300$ in my savings." Brian cockily stated. He was always so full of himself.

"300$! Brian that's a lot of money" Mark pointed out. His family never cared for him, so he didn't have allowance or spare change.

"Mark, I will give ALL of it if you ask her out and she says yes. But she's not gonna say yes. She said no to me. What makes you think she'll succumb to you?" Brian confidently said.

"My Sloan charm" Mark chuckled. Derek just groaned. He liked Mer, probably liked, liked her. But having most of his friends yapping about her made him sick. Especially the fact that Mark may just ask out his dream girl.

"Mark, I'm warning you. She's like lesbo or something. She and that Arizona girl have something in common" Brian rolled his eyes. Derek and Mark have him death glares.

"Are you gonna do it Mark?" Owen asked. He found this amusing. He had a girl, Teddy, but watching his friends fight over Meredith was funny as hell.

"Hell Yeah!" He got up and walked over to Meredith's table, which consisted of her and Izzie and George. Along with Callie, Amber and Brendan.

"Hey Grey!" He greeted her first then acknowledging her friends.

"Oh hey Mark"

"Do you want $150?" He asked out of the blue.

"What?" She exclaimed choking on her water.

"Y'know Brian? Well he thinks your into girls, and that your gonna say 'no' to me if I ask you out to the dance" Mark began explaining. His plan slowly working. "Anyways he'll give me 300$ if you say yes.

"He thinks I'm lesbian, yet he wonders why I said no to him" Meredith, bewildered by Brian's accusation.

"I know right? Anyways if I ask you out you'd get half the money. It's a fair deal."

"Um okay?" Meredith was kind of confused.

"Please Mer," he pleaded. "Also you'd get to prove him wrong.

"Fine" she breathed after thinking about for five minutes. He never called her Mer, only Grey...

"Yes!" Mark said. "I'll pick you up at 6:30, but Derek's gonna be there because my mom and his mom always carpool and shit like that."

Meredith giggled at Mark's words.

"Okay see you then" She smiled.

"Bye then" He smiled right back. He was so happy. Now Derek couldn't be mad at him for taking her out, because he could use Brian's 300$ as an excuse.

Wait you thought Mark forgot about the pact they made during spring break right? Nope, Mark remembers but he only agreed to it for the sake of it. He likes Mer. A lot.
