Meredith's POV
The alarm in my room rang. Shit, I have school today. This meant dealing with a whole new set of problems. And this year especially, boy problems. I got up brushed my teeth and wore the dress I layed out yesterday. I'm not girly girl but me and my friend Izzie went shopping last week and we got the same dress, so we decided to twin. I quickly put on my "tumbler-ish" purple floral dress and braided my hair into a French Braid. Most girls my age probably would've asked their mom to do their hair, but since I basically grew up without a mom, I learned to do things myself. I went downstairs and grabbed my backpack. As I left I grabbed the piece of toast my mom set out. A post it note next to said: "Have good day, don't be ordinary! -Mom" Of course it said that. I went out of the house and being careful of licking the door and ran to my bus stop. I quietly ate my toast in piece until Derek ( ew I hate him) and Mark ( ew but he's kinda cute) came along. I tried to ignore the fact that Mark was checking me out but it was distracting. People said that I was hot or cute or pretty all the time. I was even considered to be a popular. I really don't know how, I'm just nice to everyone so I guess everyone assumes their my friend.

"You just get hotter and hotter every day, Grey" Mark said. I could feel my face blushing and I could tell they noticed.

"Not a chance Mark, and plus I have my eyes in the look out for someone else." I lied. I didn't like anyone...yet.
Immediately I regretted saying this because now Derek and Mark won't stop teasing me about this. So I quickly changed the subject.

"Hey did anyone of you get your first kiss?" I asked. I assumed Mark would say yes and Derek saying no because that's the way it always was. Their friend Addison came up. I didn't like her because she is waayy to bossy and she has a major crush on Derek. Plus who even likes Derek. I remember kids calling Derek McDorky since the 3rd grade, now no one calls him that except for me. This girl named Teddy walked up and so did Preston. Preston, Mark, Derek and Addison went into their own world, and left me to talk to Teddy. Me and Teddy weren't really close but I'm genuinely a kind person so I started up a conversation.

"Who's your home room teacher?" I asked getting the attention of the clueless blonde. She and Owen were a 'thing' but from the looks of it Owen and Teddy never even went out on a date. Teddy and Owen are popular because they are a couple. They are probably going to be the only 8th grade couple this year.

"I have Mrs. Dragona for homeroom" she replied.

"Me too!" I squealed trying to sound excited. A few more 8th graders came up and some 6th and 7th graders started chatting.
Finally after what seemed forever the bus came. I entered the school bus, sat down next to Teddy and plopped on headphones. I looked through my phone and found a new song: Same Old Love By Selena Gomez. I decided to listen to it on an endless repeat until we got to school.
