Happy o̶n̶e̶ two? day late Thanksgiving! And, this fanfiction's one year anniversary! Ahhh... And after one year I'm not done...
Ashi got up, flustered. He dusted off his coat, awkwardly coughing, as you and Hiro were wallowing in the decaying debris, dying of laughter. Ashi looked at the both of you, very annoyed. "Get back to work!" He commanded. You rolled your eyes, smirking, and continued to shift through the debris. You just prayed he wouldn't tell your dad. ...Eh, your dad would probably high five you about it, so you had nothing to worry about.
5 minutes passed. 5 whole minutes of nothing-ness. Clumps of dewey soot and ashes clung to your hands. You stretched, frustrated at the rate of progress you were making. "Have any luck, Hiro?" You yelled. He looked up at you, shaking his head sadly. "Uggghh, Ashi, what's the point of this? I'm pretty sure if there were any evidence, it was burned." You complained, sitting on the mushy ground. Ew- Nevermind- you then stood up, brushing off your rear. Ashi stuffed his phone in his pocket- Wait, was Ashi slacking off the entire time? Ashi was about to speak until you interrupted him.
"Ashi! Were you on your phone the entire time?" Your eyes narrowed at him, as his eyebrows raised. He didn't respond, and took out his phone again. He urgently tapped on the screen. "What're you doing, exactly?" His eyes widened, as you craned your neck to get a glimpse at what he was doing with his phone. He leaned back, and pounded his fingers at the screen desperately. "C'mon--!" You lunged at him, but missed. Ashi's phone made a little jingle as it turned off. You whined, sad you couldn't see whatever top-secret crap was on his phone.
"I was simply in a business call." Ashi quickly said. "You're 16!" You groaned. "Seriously? A business call?" Ashi scoffed at you, slightly blushing. "You don't know me." Why was Ashi acting so TSUNDERE? (Your homework - Google "tsundere") It was sort of disgusting.
-Timeskip brought to you by my left hand - It fell asleep. It really hurts.-
You've been slacking off, running your hand in the soot absentmindedly. "Aha!" Ashi suddenly cried out. Both you and Hiro immediately looked at him. "What is it?" Hiro said, getting up. You also got up, and the both of you walked to Ashi. Ashi held up a small letter-shaped object; smeared with ashes, almost readable. You peered at the words embedded by the paper, until Ashi shoved it in his pocket. "This is good! We got something." Ashi smiled, looking at you. Hiro half-smiled at you, shrugging. You shrugged back. "Are we going to go home now?" You asked, standing at Hiro's side. "Well, this is the only paper, I think. It had no tears or rips in it... I guess so. You should have a rest while I decipher the paper." Ashi said, and then looked upwards in thought. "...(Y/N), you help me." He concluded. "Can I join?" Hiro said, in an almost challenging matter. Ashi groaned very quietly.
"...I suppose so." He gave in. Hiro sighed, relieved. You high fived him, and all walked home together. Once you all got back, Ashi had a brief moment to talk to your father about the "progress" made today. ...Wait, were you there for only 30 minutes? (Yeah, thanks, author. (I can't even tell if I'm being sarcastic right now.)) Eh, it didn't matter, because you were home now. You quietly discussed with Hiro, teased him (which made him blush adorably), and talked about the weather. It was absolutely cheesy. You both loved it. (Unless you didn't, I apologize. Hey, you're not the only one then-- Ashi hated it too!)
Ashi talked more and more quickly, eyes flickering from your father to you and Hiro. Your dad slightly chuckled, and sighed. "I think that's enough, Ashi." He said, d̶o̶o̶m̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶A̶s̶h̶i̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶H̶i̶r̶o̶.̶ waving away Ashi, seeing he is clearly in distress. "Oh, kids..." He murmured under his breath. "Well then, follow me!" Ashi said, leading the both of you to who knows where. That place was the garage.
"Ahhh, it's so cold in here..." Hiro murmured, the both of you hit by the chilly atmosphere of the garage. (There's a garage. It's totally a̶ ̶h̶e̶a̶d̶c̶a̶n̶o̶n̶ ̶I̶ ̶j̶u̶s̶t̶ ̶m̶a̶d̶e̶ ̶u̶p̶canon, you guys.) Ashi took out the paper, and put it under a desk light.
"Let's get to work!"
