You finally had a dream. All of it was just you holding hands with Hiro. It was a very pleasant dream. At last, you felt at peace. But perfection doesn't last forever. You eventually had to wake up. ...Right, you were still in the hospital. The window shutters were slightly opened... It seemed to be daytime. Cool. Was it okay for you to eat?
You looked at the operating table to your right (did they cut you open? ...You felt no stitches on yourself. Good). ...A sandwich. Ohhhh no. Did Ashi manage to sneak in and put this sandwich here? You weren't taking any chances. You slightly pushed it away.
...
...
It was quiet.
...Which left you to think about the multitude of crazy things that had just happened. Though it was hard to clear your mind of anything but... Hiro's confession, there were more important things to wonder of. His suit... Ashi's "home". Your life had gone into quite the disarray..
'A box.' You hadn't noticed before, but a hastily wrapped gift box had been left at your side, a small tag with "to (Y/N)" on it. It would be nice if you could actually move, to open it... Ah, but what did any cripple have against you? Nothing, that's what. Gently, you took your uninjured arm, shuffling your body just enough to gently hook a finger under the ribbon. With shaky balance, you managed to get it in your lap - OOOOOOOOH, that's heavy..! Stifling your groan, you got to work, opening the present with only one hand.
'Here we go..!' Prying open cardboard folds, you found... Pieces?
A multitude of sleek, shiny parts were neatly arranged in the box, each piece encased in some sort of protective cardboard casing. You pulled out one that curved - it was jointed in the middle, gliding with amazing ease. 'Great craftsmanship..!' Such pieces reminded you of the nerd lab. You couldn't help but smile. What were you supposed to do with these, though?
"(Y/N)..?" The door creaked open, your heart leaping. Yes, your heart could only respond like that to...
Hiro. Still in his suit, he awkwardly rubbed at his arm, eyeing the box. "...How did you open that?" He sat in a seat, next to you. You smiled. "Oh, I always find a way." Hiro's lips quirked at that, before pressing into a fine line, looking at your figure. Blushing, you followed his sight...
'Oh.' Your blush certainly didn't last long. 'Oh my.' Your other arm (which you were unable to feel) had been scoured by a deep green... Thing. If you were to give it a word, "plague" would work. From your arm to your fingertip, was brazen oozy darkness, only bewitching to look at. You blinked once, twice, before quickly turning to Hiro. "What happened?!"
He slightly nodded, sighing. Tentatively, his deep eyes wandered the room, recollecting the events after you had passed out. "Um.. When we," he sighed, again, "found you..." He took a moment... "A black tar, was, uh, dripping from your mouth... So the team and I transported you to the hospital, but, there were some complications on the way..." "Transported, huh?" You leaned your head against your pillow. "Is your suit related to that?" "Yeah," Hiro gripped at the knees of his suit. The cold surface slid against his fingers. "I'll explain that later..."
Again, both of your eyes fixed on the box.
"I made that." The words slipped out of Hiro's mouth. Your eyes brightened. "You did..?" From your tone, he figured you didn't quite understand what it was, yet. "I did." He avoided your gaze. "...It's, um... Your new arm.."
...New. New arm. New arm. "..." He waited for the weight of his words to sink into you.
"New arm!?" You cocked your head, staring into the ceiling. "..." You searched for appropriate words to respond with... Before turning your head to him. After all this stress, your eyes couldn't help but water. "...Thank you, Hiro." "M-Mhmm.." At your glance, he was reduced to blushing again, wordlessly scratching at the back of his head. "There's, more, too, at the bottom.." He stood, taking out the rest of the parts, a compact box stuck at the bottom. You watched as his lithe hands pried it for the contents.
Two cylinders. That was it.
"Interesting!" Even now, you still teased him. "Well, it's about to get a lot more interesting, if you already liked that..!" On the bottom of one cylinder, he pressed a small button. Shhhwwk! The two cylinders shook, a bright stream of lightning connecting the two. "Aiyee!" You jumped, shutting your eyes.. Before opening them, adjusting to the sight. "Hiro! I hope that won't hurt you..!" "It's fine, as long as you wear these gloves." He twirled his fingers in the glove you just realized he wore. Looking at the object one more time, you put it together. "...Nunchucks?"
He nodded, playing with the nunchucks a bit too casually. "That's right. That's not the only thing they do." Pressing a different button on the bottom, the lightning drew the two poles together, as they extended, forming a staff, one end sizzling with the same bright electricity. "Tazor staff." He seemed proud. Pressing one last button, the electricity slid to the underside of the staff, a flat board ejecting on the other side. It looked like... A longboard? He threw it to the ground, letting you marvel as it glided across the ground. "And, a hoverboard.." Hiro seemed so happy talking about his inventions.
"Your suit's not done yet." He twiddled his thumbs nervously, turning back to you. "It still needs a bit of tweaking, and I kind of want your input, except we need to hurry, because Ashi-" "Hold on," you stopped his rambling. He paused, brushing aside his fluffy hair. "Hiro. Why.. Are you giving me all these things? My suit? Are we going to match..? I need an explanation..!"
He took a short breath.
"I want you to join Big Hero Six."

A/N: Wow. Wattpad.
It sure has been a while.
I've been reading Wattpad fanfiction again, remembering the good ol' days, when my best friend suddenly brought up this old fic... Honestly, I felt so light-headed, things like this make me really nervous.
When you're younger, I suppose you think less about the consequences of... Putting something very, uh, heartfelt on the internet. But, when she was reading the comments of my latest chapter back to me, they were full of very nice things. So, I just wanted to say, thank you.
It's 2020 now. Who's going to see this? I'm not sure. But, if you're seeing this now, you're probably following this story in some way or another... So, thank you.
Writing is still a passion of mine. I write actively, but don't publish any of it. My latest "online" works are at ArchiveofOurOwn, but even so, it's been years since I've updated anything. (Really. I feel awful about that.)
Um... Yeah! That's about all I wanted to say. Maybe I'll finish this just for old time's sake... Or maybe the pain of re-reading it might turn me off... But, hey. At least someone is enjoying it! And that's all that matters.
Have a great 2020, and stay safe!
