Chapter 7: A Maiden's Truth
"Uhmm... Lucy?" a girl from my class approached me. I looked at her and saw her attire. I was shocked at how vulgar she appeared to be.
"Why did you dress like that? You know we are going swimming, right?" she asked. She was dripping wet from wading in the pool, I realized that I was out of place because of my dress.
"This old thing? Why underneath this one is my swim wear." I said though it was far from truth.
"Really? Wow. I never would have guessed. Anyway, see you later!" she said as she went to the pool.
I stayed on the hut to the left of the pool; where most of my classmate's bags were.
The party started at around 10 pm. Most of the girls were busy playing their stupid games. But I was focused on one thing: Finding out who those girls were and confirm what I needed to confirm.
For me, my routine was the most important thing in this world with the exception of my mother.
On and on they laughed and cheered, while I was left alone. Jenna was separated from me at some point in time. Having nature calling her, she never came back for me.
The time came when my classmates grew tired of swimming and resorted to drinking.
Sensing I was all alone, they all swarmed to where I was and formed a circle to deliberately have me join in their ridiculous games. I gave them an honest reply that I was in no mood for such childish inventions.
They all cooed and booed at me. Saying, how I was a killjoy. Horrible brats, yet I kept my cool. I needed them to trust me.
Finally, they got the better of me as I was forced to join their type of fun. Among all the games they played none were as idiotic as the games they made up. Or rather, I think they made up. It was the first time I ever had people letting me join in.
Most of the times, me and Jenna were always left to our own. Talking to ourselves, hanging around that spot hidden in the school courtyard, and just be normal. That ignorant prick I call as a friend always indulged me with her stupidity and frailty.
Then again, I was forced to. Come to think of it, I never saw Jenna with anyone else but me.
The games went on and so did the drinks. Slowly, I succumbed to the intoxicating fury of the alcoholic beverages and by the time we finished the tenth game I was in drunken stupor.
The time came when some of the gossipy girls wanted to start a game of truth or dare. Again that was a first for me.
I never knew the mechanics of the game and so I fell for their trap. They got an empty bottle and spun it around us. Whoever it points to would be either be asked to do something by the one who spun it or simply be asked to answer any question they had.
Much to my surprise, they always missed me by chance.
Half past 3 am the girls grew tired and called it quits. Most were too weary to go up to their rooms to sleep and just fell flat on the cold tiled floor.
They all went out cold except for me and two girls, Sam and Renee.
We conversed a little bit and drunken beer at the same time. I let my guard down the moment I was with them not knowing they had me where they wanted me.
They forced me to talk for that was their ways. These gossip girls wanted whatever material from me. They wanted it all.
"If I may be so bold Lucy... May we ask you a question?" Sam asked. She looked older than the two and probably the most cunning as well.
