A/N: Sorry that this chapter took so long. My laptop decided to be an evil, scheming, demonic creature, and it deleted this entire chapter before I got to post it. Then it would not let me restore it, so I had to retype it all over again. Anyway, I added Mai's POV (Amaya's Mother) for this chapter, even though it is quite short.
So... Read, Comment, Vote, and ENJOY!!! =)
P.S. This chapter is dedicated to CrimsonShadow for the lovely feedback =)

Hayate’s POV
I couldn’t believe that I had told her like that. I was supposed to wait for the right time and carefully explain the details. However, seeing the fact that Amaya was now unconscious in my arms, things did not go the way I had planned.
I still had not told Amaya that her mother, Mai, had been the daughter of the Alpha of a very strong pack in Japan. Mai had been forcibly mated with a man she did not love. She ran away from her pack, and fell in love with Amaya’s father. A year after Amaya was born, Mai’s father came looking for her, and Mai left so her daughter and her lover would not be harmed. In shape-shifter culture, it was like an unspoken law that you could not mate with a human, nor could you have children with anyone other than the one you were mated to. The law was even stricter when it came to Alphas.
I knew all of this because I myself am an Alpha, so it was not hard for me to find information on other packs. I was afraid to tell Amaya that little fact. Nozomu, Ren, and Huyu were– well, they were like Right Hands; the most loyal out of all of my pack members.
There was another fact that Amaya did not know. Her father’s ‘agency’ was really a group of shifter hunters who hunted and killed corrupted shape-shifters. And so, Amaya also did not know that the so called criminals that she had killed over the past few years were all corrupt shifters.
I was keeping so many secrets from her… she did not deserve to be lied to. And yet, I had told her that I had no idea if she was human or not, which was the worst lie I ever told her– one she would never forgive me for, because I knew exactly what Amaya was.

Amaya’s POV
Why didn’t he tell me? Hell, why didn’t Otōsan tell me? (A/N: Otōsan = father)
I felt almost betrayed– by both my father and Hayate. Hayate of all people. I could not comprehend why some people thought that it actually helped to hide the truth from people. When people find out the truth on their own it hurts so much more.
I wondered what I was. My mother was a shape-shifter… but my father was a shifter hunter. What if I was a shifter too? Would I kill corrupted shifters like Akuma?
When I thought about it, all of the criminals I had killed– I had gotten their names from Ein at the agency– the same ‘agency’ that my father worked for. There was a good chance that the ‘agency’ was just an inconspicuous name for the headquarters of all shape-shifter hunters. I shivered in my sleep– I could tell that I was close to waking up. But if I was, indeed, a shape-shifter, who’s to say that they wouldn’t try to kill me one day?
