Chapter 5

A/N: So... it's only been three days since my last upload, which says alot because I've been working five days a week, and I've been getting home later than I should, but, heck, I really can't complain much, can I?  Money is money, right?  And even though I don't use much of my own money on myself, it feels good to be able to buy dinner for the whole family every once in a while, just because I can.

Anyway, I'm starting to babble.  Back to the facts: this chapter is just a TINY bit longer that the others.  There IS a little bit of romance, so if you don't like it: shield your eyes or get over it! Lol, just kidding.  Only Amaya's POV because I did not want to make the chapter too long by adding another POV.

SO... READ ONWARD!!!   ..... and Comment and Vote =)

Amaya’s POV

(Dream)

I ran through the forest, feeling the energy flow through my veins.  I was running for the thrill of feeling the air brush over me.  Suddenly I realized that I had fur.  I looked down and saw… my paws?  Was I a shifter?  Well, obviously you’re a shifter, you baka, that same voice told me, and I’m not just ‘a voice,’ I am your wolf, genius.

I laughed in my wolf form, which sounded more like a grunt, but I didn’t care.  I started to run again; oddly okay with the fact that I was not fully human.

Two days ago you passed out at the thought, and now you’re suddenly okay with it? My wolf asked me.

‘I passed out because I did not know.  I did not know if I was human or not; what can I say?  People fear what they do not know,’ I replied.

A stranger becomes a friend if you get to know them, my wolf countered, you cannot fear the unknown forever– especially if you want to survive.

‘How am I supposed to survive anyway?  I’m probably a worthless half-bred common wolf.’

Look at yourself right now, my wolf told me.  Knowing that my wolf would bother me until I listened, I slowed into a walk and stopped near a small lake.  I looked in and saw a stunning white wolf with sapphire eyes and a silver star-shaped patch of fur on my forehead.  I would have gasped if I were in human form.

We are a white wolf.  White wolves are the strongest and purest of all wolves– especially when it comes to shifters.  I do not know why you were blessed with such a powerful form when you– or rather we– are only half-shifter.  Nonetheless, you should put the power given to you to use.  You– we– can use this power to protect the ones you love and care for.  You are not, nor will you ever be, a worthless half-breed.  Now stop putting yourself down, manuke.  You’re making me depressed.     (A/N: manuke = idiot/ moron)

I almost laughed. ‘You say such wise words, and they truly are inspiring,’ I told my wolf, ‘but that won’t change one fact.’

What? She asked.

‘Anata wa watashi shiri-tsūdearu,’ I replied, laughing as I pulled myself out of my dream.    (A/N: Anata wa watashi shiri-tsūdearu = you are a pain in my ass.)
