A/N: Okay--- Chapter 11. I TOLD you all that she didn't make a mistake--- sheesh. And how cruel could I possibly be to kill off one of the main characters? WARNING: there are a lot of POV switches, and I'm sorry if it bothers you, but I thought it was easier to tell everything that is going on by switching the point of view. No Hayate in this chapter, but no worries; his POV will be back next chapter.... and just wait for the surprise =)
P.S. Dedicated to catterbrie for being my number one commenter, and a simply awesome person =D

Akuma's (a.k.a. Rikiya's) POV
"Are you kidding me, Ichio? Why in the hell would she do that?" I snapped into the phone.
Mai glanced at me out of the corner of her eye from where she stood about three feet away. We had just landed in a California airport, and we would be on the move again once I was done with this call from Ichio, the head of the agency.
"Akuma, apparently Hayate Kiyoshi is her true mate. He called me from her number and told me to contact you... Amaya willingly went with Kottan, only to save everyone's lives."
"And he just let her do that? He can't even protect his mate?" I growled.
"Think about it. If your true love asked you to do something for them, would you deny them?"
I sighed aloud, peeking at Mai. I had loved her at first sight, and I would do anything for her even if it hurt me to do it. "Okay, I get the point."
"If it helps any, Akuma," Ichio paused, "I think that she somehow knew that you were coming... she might be stalling for time."
"Whatever game she's playing with Harou Kottan, I hope that she is cautious," I muttered before hanging up the phone.
Please, Amaya, I whispered in my mind, be careful.

Amaya's POV
Baka.
My wolf kept repeating the word every five minutes. What else was I supposed to do? Let them all get killed? Besides, I had a gut feeling that I needed to stall for time--- don't you feel it, too?
Just because I feel it doesn't mean I like it--- people are worrying over us, and we don't even know what Harou will do to us, she argued.
Still... I muttered. So far all Harou had done was lock me into a room with a bed, dresser, a couch, and a coffee table. Hayate had told me via our mind connection that Kottan's entire pack had left the territory.
I was still not completely sure what Harou wanted me for. He should have enough intelligence to know that I would not let him sever the bond between Hayate and me, so I could not seem to figure out what he was planning. It had something to do with me being the only white wolf in no-one-even-knows how much time. I knew he wanted my power, but he could not possibly just take it from me... or could he?
