Erin is fostering Lucy. But just until they find a home.
Erin's phone rings. "Hello. Yeah she's with me. OK. Yeah, I understand. Tomorrow? Sure." That's all Erin said.
The next day arrived and Erin went to the meeting place. Lucy had no clue where she was going. "Erin. Where we going?" Lucy softly asked.
"To meet your grandparents." Erin stated. Then pulled to a parking spot. There was two older people standing by a bench. This made Erin wonder. Because they could always sit down.
"Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Streib? I'm Erin. Erin Lindsay."
"Good morning. Hi Lucy." The lady said.
"I don't remember you." Lucy replied.
"That's because the last time I saw you, you were a tiny little thing. Of course you don't remember!" The lady responded. Erin handed Lucy off, and let the old people take her. Erin drove to work and soon a call came in. "Lindsay."
"Hi, this is Mr. Streib. You said you'd meet with us, I am Lucy's grandfather."
"I, I just gave her to you guys."
"We've never seen you, and we haven't seen her yet. And you're not..."
"Come to the police department, and we can sort things out."
"Uh. OK."
"Thanks. Bye."
And when the grandparents showed up, they verified themselves. And Erin gave Lucy to the wrong people.
"This girl! She gave Lucy to strangers! Arrest her! Do something. Its her fault." The real Mr. Streib yelled. He then pulled out a gun. "DO SOMETHING OR I WILL!" He pulled Erin into a room, and locked the door. Mrs Streib started crying. She had no idea he would do that.
"Let her go! We've found Lucy. One of our detectives, Detective Atwater is going to get her. Let Erin go!" Voight shouted.
"Erin its okay!" Jay yelled. "You'll be fine." Then the gun sounded twice, and they all ran into the room. The man dead, and Erin unconscious, she was stabbed in the stomach, and shot in the shoulder.
"Erin. Oh my god. Erin!" Jay yelled and rushed to her side.
Then a gun went off and Jay fell to the ground. Mrs Streib shot Jay."D.O.A. 4 rounds of EPI, and we got her back. Luckily we were able to keep her stable." Brett told Will Halstead.
"And my brother?" He asked.
"Don't worry about that, he'll be fine." Chilli said reassuring him.A couple hours later. Jay woke up. Erin still in surgery.
Jay looked around. The only person he saw was Atwater. No Erin. No Will.
"Hey. Is Erin.." Jay breathed out.
"Still in surgery. She will make it. She's a fighter." Atwater comforted Jay.
"I know." Jay tried to get up out of his bed, but the nurse came in and pushed him back in bed.
"No. Stay here. You're in no condition to walk." She stated.
"No, I'm fine. Erin, she's..."
"Out of surgery, she's in the ICU now. You can't see her though. You have to heal." Voight stated.
"I need to...I have to see her. She's....I..."
"Love her? Yeah me too." Voight replied.Erin wakes up the next day to see Voight, Bunny, and Jay in a wheelchair.
Of course, Voight and Bunny are arguing, but Jay had his head in his hands. Praying for Erin to come back to him. "Who you prayin' for?" She breathed out.
"Myself. You know, I recently got shot." He said sarcastically.
"Huh, well I got stabbed and shot. Beat dat." She sarcastically said then coughed.
"Fine, one-upper." They kissed and then laughed at each other. After they go back to work a couple weeks later....
They go back to work. Together. As a couple. "Jay, come on. I don't think they will mind if we take off another...." Erin started to say.
"No, we have to go, we've been off for quite some time. And on the plus side, we work together...so we'll see each other all day." Jay reassured her.
"Fine, but tonight...." She gave him that sexy look and then walked out the door and got in the car. Jay did the same and they headed for work."Lindsay! Halstead. My office now!" Voight hollered. They thought that he would be just a little bit happier to see them.
"Whats going on?" Halstead asked.
"You've been out for a month! And we've had to fill your spaces. You better kick some ass out there or you might not have a job. When it all comes down to it, we need some kick ass detectives and not some, I'm injured, 'I need help' detectives. Don't wanna sound harsh, but that's how it is."
"Voight, that's not fair. And you know it..." Erin tried to state before getting cut off. "I don't give a rats ass about fair. Now stop arguing or I'll have you suspended." Voight replied.
Erin and Jay both exited the office. Jay went to his desk, and Erin, well she walked out of the building. Never to come back....Next on Linstead:
