The next day at school was pretty calm. Luke actually came and picked me up for school today so it was nice, but i'm extremely exhausted from staying up all night on FaceTime.
But the plus side was that I managed not to look like a pile of garbage so that's good. We were at lunch, and I was currently sitting with Anna and Ashton. Luke didn't sit with me yet again, but I don't say anything about it. I'm use to it by now.
"So are you excited for that art complex thing?" Ashton asked and I smiled and nodded excitedly.
"Wait, what?" Anna asked confused.
So I explained everything to her about how Mr. Fletcher suggested that I go there since they loved my art. She was excited for me and continued to talk to me about it until it was making me nervous. I go after school and i'm just a little scared.
Then she brought up how there was a party going on tomorrow night and she wants me to go.
"It's Michaels party," she smiled at me and I shrugged.
"That's cool. I might," I said and Ashton just chewed on his salad. I want to invite him but I don't think he would like to go.
"Do you wanna come with me?" I asked him as his head lifted up and he shook his head, denying the invitation.
"No i'm fine. Parties aren't really my thing," he said adding a shrug as I smiled.
"Cmon, you can't knock it until you try it," Anna smiled.
He shrugged his shoulders, and I could tell he wasn't comfortable with the idea, "It's okay if you don't," I shrugged, "If you go, you can stick with me the whole night, and I'll even throw a dance in for you," I smiled and he giggled and shrugged smiling.
"Alright," he nodded and I smiled excited.
The party is definitely going to be fun. Anna is planning on asking someone to go with her, and I have Ashton, who won't be an annoying drunk that just wants to get laid. Plus it's his first party so I have to make sure he has fun.
Soon school was over, and I decided not to wait till dad got off work, and went ahead and road my bike to the address that was on the card. The building was bigger than I thought. It was so nice on the inside, but it was beautiful none the less. Art work from famous artist of this century was displayed on each floor.
"Hello," the woman greeted me behind the front desk and I smiled.
"Hi, i'm Cleo Jenner-"
"Oh yes," she greeted interrupting me, "Go to the third floor," she smiled and I thanked her as I walked up the stairs.
Once I knocked a man opened the door, "Can I help you?"
"I'm Cleo-"
"Aw you're Miss Cleo Jenner," he smiled as some people turned to look at me, as I began feeling nervous. "You are such a talented young girl," he said smiling allowing me to walk in.
"You can come in, make yourself comfortable," he said as I glanced around and noticed the photo of my mother hanging on the way by a fern.
"Oh, I hope you don't mind, I just thought it was a beautiful canvas, I had to display it to everyone."
"No, not at all," I smiled as I felt suddenly overwhelmed.
"Beautiful woman. Who was your inspiration?" He asked.
My shoulders came into a shrug, "It's actually my mom," I said simply as he turned to me amazed.
"It's perfect."
I smiled as he asked if I brought any tools as in pencils to work with, which I did. Also my sketch book, which he asked to go through, and I allowed it. He didn't seem disappointed either.
"These are brilliant. Literally breathtaking," he said bringing his hand to his chest, "Did you recreate a starry night?" He questioned and I nodded.
"You're only eighteen?"
I shook my head, "No actually 17, I turn 18 next month..." I said and he smiled.
"Would you mind if I hold on to this just for a few days or so?" He asked and I nodded and smiled.
"Yeah sure, I don't mind," I smiled before he allowed me to go set up my own area.
"Hey," a voice said catching me off guard. I looked over to see a young girl, no older than 28. "You did that?" She asked pointing to the photo of my mom and I nodded and she grinned nodding her was before looking away, making me grin.
Maybe this could be fun.
