Sam showed me around and introduced me to everyone. After I said my hello's, I sat down next to Sam and Cody. We made some small talk and just relaxed. The conversation wasn't forced, and none of us felt awkward. After only a short time, I could tell that I would become good friends with these people.

Chapter Five

The concert was amazing. Sam and his band did an incredible job. Sam and Cody, especially, knew how to keep the crowd going. They were brilliant at entertaining. I couldn't help but fall into a deeper crush with Sam as I heard him belt out the lyrics to his songs. He was such an amazing singer.

The whole band was amazing. They all had a job, and knew how to do it perfectly. The lyrics to their songs were so meaningful, too. It reminded me of when I first started in the music industry. I wrote all of my own lyrics, and produced my own music. After I was signed to my label, everything started going downhill.

Don't get me wrong, I still sing hits, but they aren't personally my own. They are produced by the label, which defeats the whole purpose of my career.

The concert lasted a few hours. After it was over, Sam came backstage and asked me if I enjoyed myself. I, of course, responded with a big yes. We waited for the crew to pick up all of the band's supplies, and then we started to head back to Sam's place.

"I'm glad you came, Riley." Sam smiled. He politely opened the door for me, allowing me to enter into his home.

"Thanks for inviting me. I really had a great time." I smiled back. I kicked off my shoes and plopped down onto a big couch.

"Tired?" Sam raised an eyebrow, letting out a small chuckle.

"Exhausted." I sighed. I picked up a small pillow and threw it at him. He ducked and gave me a playful smirk.

"Bad idea." He came running towards me, picking me up and throwing me over his shoulders.

"Sam!" I giggled. That's when Cody barged through the doors.

"Wow." Cody stared at Sam. Sam carefully set me back on the couch and awkwardly scratched his forehead.

"What's up, man? You headed to bed?" Sam asked.

"Why? So you two can fuck?" Cody replied with a blank expression. I was confused. Cody seemed a little angry.

"No, dude, we were just playing around." Sam held his hands up in defense. I stood up and put my hand on Sam's back.

"I should be heading home." I stated, not wanting to encounter an awkward situation. Sam looked at me, guilt filled in his eyes.

"You sure?" Sam looked at the floor.

"Yeah, Riley, stay for a little longer." Cody begged. I smiled and walked towards the door.

"I'd love to, guys, but Rob is going to freak out. He already was pissed that I came to the concert."

"Rob didn't want you coming to the concert?" Sam questioned. He looked concerned.

"Rob doesn't want me hanging out with guys, period. He thinks he has control over me. It's ridiculous." I sighed.

"I mean, I'm not surprised. I'm sure you get people who just want to use you for your fame." Cody looked at me with a sincere look.

Wow. He actually understands.

"I think Rob's more worried about other issues... But you're right, Cody. You basically spoke my feelings. Fame is hard." I bit my lip and put my shoes on.
