My One and Only

Chapter 2

CHAPTER 2

I found myself humming the next morning as I placed my guitar in its case and put my music sheets somewhat sloppily into my folder. Maybe I can show it to Hailey today at the end of the jam I thought while
putting my things by the front door, after all she wrote songs too.

I sighed after looking at the clock, I still had an hour before the jam would start. I flopped down on the couch and brought out my phone to see if I had any new texts. I beamed immediately when I saw that Leo's little brother Tommy had sent me a
text.

God I loved that kid, I had known him since forever he was just adorable with light brown hair, those big brown puppy dog eyes and he was just a very social (and somewhat mischievous) kid. I began texting back.

Tommy: Hey :)

Raven: Wazzup? :)

Tommy: Not much just waiting for the jam to start

Raven: Lolz same here!

Tommy: Hey want to see a funny picture?

Raven: YUSSSSSS!!!

....

Tommy: Someone break my eye!

With that text he sent me a picture of him making a goofy face with one crossed eye. I laughed.

Raven: HAHAHAHA LOL NICEEEE!!!

Tommy: Haha ikr! Hey I got to go now see you at the jam!

Raven: Kay bye see you at the jam! ;)

"Who are you texting?" Said my mom as she came in the room with a smile.

"Tommy!" I said with a grin.

"Again?" She asked raising an eyebrow. "You two certainly have been talking a lot lately, you sure he
doesn't have a crush on you honey?" She said.

I made a face. "Ewww gross! No way mom Tommy is like a little brother NOT a boyfriend!" I said.

"Hmm alright but what about Leo then? He's a very handsome young man." She said.

I groaned. "MOM!" I said.

She laughed. "Alright alright!" She said holding her hands up. "But you should grab a snack ok, we'll be leaving soon." She said.

Finally! I thought, as we pulled up into their driveway. I jumped out of the car and sprinted up to the porch with my guitar and folder in hand. I gently set them down and snuck up behind Leo giving him a surprise
attack hug. He jumped, and I laughed.

"Hiya!" I said.

"You really need to stop doing that!" He said somewhat out of breath.

I giggled. "It's nice to see you too!" I said.

"Yeah great." He laughed.

He glanced over at my things and raised an eyebrow.

"You brought your music?" He said.

"Yup!" I said.

He grinned "Hailey is over there if you're gonna show her your song." He said gesturing over towards her.

"Awww." I said. "You know me so well!" I grinned.

He snorted.

I skipped over to Hailey.

"Hiya!" I said.

She grinned at me and was about to speak when a few of the others chose that moment to come outside. When
Jackson spotted Hailey he smiled at her with a slight pinkness in his cheeks. Hailey blushed grinning back
and tucked her hair behind her ear. I grinned slyly at her and mouthed the words "I think he likes you" Her blush got slightly pinker.

She cleared her throat. "Eherm so have you asked Leo to the dance yet?" She asked changing the subject that had not yet started.

"Nope." I said.

She raised an eyebrow. "When do you plan to ask him to the dance?" She asked.

I shrugged. "No idea." I replied.

She sighed. "Well just go on then!" She said.

"What?" I said.

"Ask him!" She ordered.

"Right now?" I whined.

"Yes right now!" She said placing her hands on her hips.

I sighed. "Ok whatever, be back." I said.

She beamed at me and gave me a slight push in Leo's direction.

I walked over to him again.

"Hey Leo!" I said grinning.

"Hey Raven!" He said returning the smile.

"Ok so Hailey is bothering me right now about the whole dance thing." I said heard her groan and face palm herself behind me.

"Anywho." I said. "If you don't already have a date do you wanna go with me?" I asked.

He grinned. "Sure as long as you don't make us wear matching outfits!" He teased.

I laughed. "Wouldn't dream of it!"

"Great!" He said. "Alice was just bothering me about it too anyways." He said.

I looked over at Alice her long white blond hair was piled into a high pony tail and her pale skin went nicely with the hot pink T shirt she was wearing and her deep brown eyes that usually sparkled where now glowering at me. Uh oh I thought. Crap she looked pissed, obviously she had wanted to go to the dance with Leo. I gave her an apologetic smile, luckily Leo's mom chose just that moment to start the jam.

"Ok everybody take a seat." She said and did a head count.

I looked around at all the friends around me, Katy and Cody, the 16 year old redheaded twins with deep
brown eyes and pale skin, Leo and Jackson, also twins the only difference between them being that
Jackson's hair was a bit longer, Tommy with his banjo over by Mary, who was 8, youngest in the group
with her short blond hair and brown eyes, Rehannah with her long brown hair glasses and brown eyes, and Alice who was still glowering at me, then Hailey who was next to me tuning her guitar.

"Let's see here we have Hailey, Jackson, Leo, Tommy, Katy, Rehannah, Alice, Raven, Mary and Cody. Great that's everyone let's get started!" She said.

We set up with me, Hailey, Katy and Leo on guitar, Jackson and Cody on the mando, Tommy on the banjo, Mary on the fiddle, and Rehannah on the piano, then we got to playing some blue grass music.

I got to show my song to Hailey later on, I kept glancing over at Alice to see if she was still mad...Yup I thought. Hailey suddenly giggled.

"Ooohhhh she's mad." She said.

"Ya think?" I said biting my lip.

She gasped. "OMG Raven we should go shopping tomorrow for our dresses!!!" She squealed.

"Dresses, for the dance?" I said looking up from my music sheets.

"YES!!!" She said. "My mom can pick us up after school!" She beamed.

Huh... I thought, going dress shopping so I can look pretty... for Leo WOW that was a weird idea.

I shook my head. "Yeah that will be great!" I said grinning at her.

"Awesome see you then!" She said.

"See you then!" I said.
