A New Beginning

Chapter 6

Darian's POV

It was gym time now and I was stretching with Stella.

"I swear it sucks we don't have Madison in gym with us." I said.

"Yeah. It would be 10 times better with her."

Just then, Jaden sat next to us.

"Hey guys."

"Hey Jaden." Stella said.

"Hi Darian." I just ignored him and kept stretching, making it kinda awkward. Luckily, Coach Miller cut the silence by blowing his whistle.

"Alright. Today we will be working on our basketball skills." He said. We all cheered. Basketball is my favorite sport!

"First free throws. I've got you all in partners." He began to go down the row, and ended up at my name. I prayed I was with Stella.

"Um Anderson. You'll be partners with our new student Mr.Smith."

My heart dropped. He did NOT just pair me with Jaden. He smiled at me. But I kept a straight face. He looked a little confused but I didn't care. We walked over to the basketball goal and began to shoot.

"Hey, What's wrong? He asked. I just shrugged my shoulders.

"Why aren't you answering me? Are you mad?" I did nothing and just shot the ball again.

I was about to shoot again but he snatched it out of my hands.

"Hey! Give it back!"

"Not until you tell me why you're upset."

"Jaden just give me the damn ball."

"No. What's wrong," He grabbed my hand and pulled me close to him.

"Tell me." he said softly.

I began to blush.

"Give me the ball."

"Is it about the thing at lunch? Look I'm sorry. I just didn't wanna be rude. I regret sitting with her anyways. She's kinda annoying." I started to giggle.

"Hey there's that smile!"

"Thanks. For apologizing. And giving me the ball back." I snatched the ball and started to run around the gym with it. We began to wrestle over the ball. Then we heard a loud whistle.

"HEY! This is no time to fraternize Miss Anderson and Mr. Smith! Get back to work!" We quietly laughed on our way back to the goal.

The rest of the day ended and I was walking home with Stells and Madison.

"Sooo. How is it having someone like Jaden Smith liking you?" Madison asked nudging me.

"He doesn't like me." I protested.

"Yeah right. I see the way he looks at you." Stella said

"You mean the EXACT same way he looks at every other girl in the school?" I asked.

"Please. If anything he probably doesn't know half the female population exists." Madison said.

"Yeah and not to mention the fact that he makes you BLUSH!" Stella said laughing. Just when I was about to protest my phone rang.

"Oooh! Someone got a text from the star himself. I wonder what it says!" Madison said.

"Probably something like, 'hey babe. Wanna go to the beach with me an my unicorn and make out while the sunsets?" Stella said.

"Omg guys stop. It just says 'hey. Can't wait til the big party.' I mean c'mon guys. Honestly it's not that serious. We're just going to the party as friends. Nothing more or less. Sure Jaden is cool, but I've realize that him wanting a girl like me, I do kinda like him, but I don't think it's a good idea."

I unlocked my door and walked in. We want up to my room and I started texting Jaden. While we were talking about the party, I realized I didn't even have an outfit.

"Omg guys, we have to go shopping!" I said.

"Oh can I invite Willow?!" Stella asked almost shaking.

"Yes. Just don't explode." I said rubbing her back.

"Oh and Jaden invited you guys too. He said Moises and Mateo wanted to see you."

"YAY!" They both yelled attacking me. I really regretted that.

"Guys! Can't breathe!" They quickly jumped off me and we went back to socializing.

Jaden's POV

I laid back on my bed, thinking about the party. I wonder what would happen. Would we kiss? Maybe dance? Would she ignore me and find someone else to hang with? My thoughts were interrupted when Willow walked in my room.

"I'm going shopping tommorow with some friends so I'll be home late" She said.

"Alright. What friends?" I asked.

"Stella, Madison, and Darian."

"Oh can I bring Mateo and Moises along?"

"I guess." she shrugged and walked out.

I smiled and ran my hands through my hair. I looked down at my phone and posted something on instagram.

I smiled again and laid my phone on my side table before getting ready for bed.
