A New Beginning

Chapter 9

Darian's POV

Once the song ended I dropped my arms from around Jaden's neck while his hands still rested on my hips. I began to blush while he noticed he was still holding me and let go. I went back outside to join the rest of the crew.

"So how are you enjoying the party?" Jaden asked.

"It's pretty cool. You know, no fights or drama. And everyone is pretty chill. I'm having a great time." I said.

"That's great." He draped his arm around my shoulder and we began to talk about different things.

"I'm really glad you decided to come." He said.

"Yeah me too."

Jaden's POV

The weeked went by pretty fast and next thing I knew it was Monday. I opened my eyes and sighed. I got up out of bed and got my hygeine together first. Then Iwent to my closet and pulled out black drop-crotch pants and a MSFT T'shirt. I slid on my vans and grabbed my hoodie and backpack. I walked out of my room and downstairs. I grabbed a granola bar and waited for Willow so we could both walk to school together.

Darian's POV

"Darian!!!!" I heard someone call my name and turned around, getting attacked by Willow. We both fell to the ground with a thud.

"Jeez, Willow! I'm gonna have to start wearing padding around you! What'd you jump on me for?"

"Just wanted to say hi." She smiled widely. I gave her a straight face before beginning to laugh along with her. We both got up and I went backto getting my things out of my locker.

"Hey hey hey." I heard Madison and Stella say while coming towards my locker.

"Hey guys." I said.

"So, after school are we still gonna hang out?" Stella asked.

"Yeah we're all coming over my house." Willow exclaimed while jumping.

"Great! Now Darian gets to spend time with her boyfriend." Madison said while nudging me with her elbow.

"He's not my boyfriend! We're just....chilling."

"Yeah right! I saw y'all at that party. All lovey dovey!" They all laughed. I smiled and rolled my eyes.

"Shut up guys." The warning bell rung and I closed my locker and began walking to my first period. I stopped in my tracks once I saw Jaden was leaning on the lockers next to mine the whole time.

"Hey." He said.

"Hey." I smiled.

"I had a great time Friday."

"Yeah me too."

"We should do that more often."

"Yeah." I looked down and bit my lip while smiling.

"So, can I walk you to class? Since we're going to the same one."

"Sure." He grabbed my books and out them on his.

"Oh you don't have t-"

"It's aight. I want too."

"Awwwwwww." The girls all gushed while holding their hearts.

I walked alongside of Jaden until we got to our first period.

"Thanks Jay." I smiled and grabbed my books while walking in. I took my usual seat and Jaden sat next to me.

"Okay class. Today we will be watching a video and it should take up most of the period. There will be a test so take notes! Austin, you are in charge until I get back from the copy room to make the tests." With that Mrs. Arnold walked out leaving us to watch the video. I grabbed my pen and notebook and quickly began to take notes. About hallways through the video a note landed on top of my notes. I looked over at Jaden. He was looking at me with a grin on his face. I opened the note and read it.

Are you really paying attention? I looked up at him and shook my head before writing back.

Yes I am. And you should too mister! I passed the note back to him. He looked down at it and laughed at it. he wrote something and passed it back.

No way. This is boring. Can we hang later this week?

Yeah I don't mind.  He was about to write something back but the bell rang. I gathered my things together and started to Algebra.

Jaden's POV

It took my seat at the lunch table with everyone. I was waiting on Darian to come but it had already been 10 minutes and she hadn't come.

"Do you guys know why Darian isn't here yet?" I asked everyone.

"She said she was going to eat lunch somewhere else to think." Stella said.

"Do you know where?"

"Nope. Maybe the lounge? Or the library." She said.

I got up quickly and walked out the cafeteria.

I had already checked the lounge and

I've already checked the ounge and I'm pretty sure she isn't in the library. I was on my way back to the cafeteria but something caught my eye. I saw a door with a sign next to it Rooftop- No students allowed.

I smiled. Darian is most definantly in here. I slowly opened the heavy door and walked up the steps leading to the outside. The rooftop was nice. It had nice plants and furniture. There was a stereo set with speakers and a fooseball table. I don't see why they wouldn't let us enjoy this. I saw her sitting on one of the couches with her backto me so she couldn't see me. I walked up behind her and covered her eyes. I felt her jump slightly. I chuckled.

"It's just me." I whispered. I uncovered her eyes and jumped over the couch next to her. 

"You scared me! I thought you were a teacher trying to catch me in one of those corny ways before sending me off to the office." I smiled and laughed.

"No. But why are you up here when 1, you're not supposed to be and 2, there is a cafeteria downstairs with a table full of all your friends?"  I asked.

"Well, for one, I couldn't care less about them telling where and where no to go and I just wanted some time to think."

"Well what are you thinking about?"

"Oh....Nothing really."

"You can tell me."

"Why are you so nice to me?"

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You compliment me at random times, carry my books for no reason, and I've know you for barely over a week and you've already invited me to a party."

"Oh. Well I don't know I'm a nice guy."

"But still. Out of all girls-" I was cut off by the bell.

"I gotta go, but you never know," He came up really close to my ear.

"I just might have a thing for you." My mouth dropped opened as he walked off with a smirk on his face. Did he really just say that?
