"Tell me about yourself." The headmistress of Oakvale Elementary School started.

Honestly,I was sweating inside my suit.As I told her about myself, which was rather hard to come up with.I told her I graduated from the University of Westminster and that I wanted to teach English to children. She asked me if I had any working experiences and I said I've been a substitute teacher now and then but that I really wanted to be a full time English teacher.

"Okay. Now,can you tell me why you want this job?" Easy.

"I love kids.I want to teach them the beauty of English. And to make a positive difference on the future of the children.I have a lot of young nieces and nephews and I would always tutor them if they needed me to.Ever since a young age,I've always dreamed of being a teacher.I just love knowledge."

She asked me several more questions. That interview ended over an hour ago and I'm still thinking about it.I can't help but replay conversations in my head. It's a very bad habit that I so happen to have.I couldn't help but think I've failed that interview. The headmistress told me that she would give me a call in an hour or so.

I walked into the coffee shop that smelled so aromatic and inviting. My face was bleak and brooding as I searched the area for my friends.I spotted Mikey first. He waved me over and so I trudged forward.Slumping down in my seat,I covered my face with my hands, groaning softly.

"A cup of coffee, please." I heard Adam saying.I took my hands away from my face.He patted me on the shoulder. "So,how was it? Couldn't be that bad."
"You lads work in a game company. How would you know that it couldn't be that bad?"

I thought back to the horrifying interview.I took that interview to be a preschool English teacher if it wasn't obvious enough.I screwed up,didn't I? I'm not a very positive person.

"They'll give me a call later." I said again.

"Chill.Besides kids love you.I don't even know why you want to be in a building with hyper-active little people." Mikey said after chewing his food.

A waiter soon came by our table with a cup of coffee topped with whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce.Adam paid and pushed it toward me.I stared at him, bewildered. He's never this nice to me.

"Well,go on.It's on me.You look like a real mess." He said simply.

"Thank you." I replied with a sarcastic smile.

Mikey and Adam started talking to each other so I occupied myself by looking around this sweet smelling coffee shop that I've never been to.I only found out about this place moments ago when I texted Adam I was done with the interview and he texted me back with an address that I wasn't familiar with telling me to meet up with Mikey and him.

I looked around once more.It had a cozy vibe to it.There was a corner filled with just pillows and bean bags.It was occupied by a group of teenagers with their laptops.Probably doing homework.I looked straight ahead and saw a girl that was so beautiful it hurts to even look at her.I know,I know. How cliché you might think.

She had her hair up in a really messy bun with a lot of baby hair that framed her face perfectly. She had one or two books on the table. She must be a bookworm. I had this sudden urge to go over to her and just talk with her.All I was grateful for at that moment was that she was distracting me from that horrible interview.

"What are you staring at?" Adam waved a hand in front of my face making Mikey turn around in his seat.

"I reckon it's that pretty girl back that." Mikey winked.

"I can't help it,alright?" I protested.

She sat at the corner of the coffee shop at a small table with her hands grasping a hard cover book.My friends are pushing and punching my shoulders playfully at this point.Teasing me for staring.

She was breathtaking

Again,I know.

How cliché.

My cheeks shaded a strawberry red as soon as her eyes flickered up and caught my stare.I gulped hesitantly.Caught red-handed.But before I could look away to hide my embarrassment, she smiled a small yet beautiful smile at me before returning to her book.

"You're gonna talk to her or not?" Mikey pointed to the girl with his mug.

"What do I even say to her if I were to talk to her?" I straightened my tie, shifting in my seat.

"I have no idea."

"How do you expect me to go up and make a conversation that won't freak her out then?"

"Well, you're Tom Watson. You literally have all the ladies drooling over you.So I figured you'd know what to say.Adam and I are just game geeks. We know nothing about women. You do."

"She's different. It's like she stitched my mouth shut and took all the words with her." I said looking at her then looked back.

"How do you even know she's different? You haven't even met her yet.She could be like every other girl." He pointed out.

"It's just-"

"Tom,you should just shut it and talk to her." Adam spoke up.

I got up from my seat, smoothing my suit.As I looked to her,I could just feel the sweat running down my face already.I walked up a little bit before turning back and taking my seat again.

I grabbed the napkin on the table and dabbed away the sweat that was now dripping.

"Back so soon?" Mikey smirked.

"I can't do it." I gripped the edges of the table.

"We got a coward here." Adam faked a shock.

"I am not a coward." I declared.Putting my napkin down and standing up.

This time I walked all the way.As I was walking to her,I was thinking up conversation starters. She's gonna think I'm a weirdo. That's for sure.I'm gonna give it a shot though.I just have to try.I'll feel like a failure even more.

I can do this. Now,that was fake positivism.

Author's note:
