Julia's POV
Taking Brady's car,we headed down to London's Chinatown. I ordered shrimp fried rice for myself and dumplings for us to share. I sipped my iced water looking around, ignoring my friends looks. Especially Marie's obvious look telling me that she wanted to be filled in with the news.I soon sighed and stopped twirling my straw around. Pushing my glass away,I said, "What is it,Marie?"
"Did you kiss him?" She said eyes wide with curiosity. I myself widened my eyes in shock. How could she possibly think I kissed him? That only made Brady coughed.
"No." I said firmly.
"Did you want to though?" She pressed on with squinty eyes.
"No. I don't know." I said crossing my arms.
"What did you guys talk about?" Brady jumped in.
"Ourselves," I mumbled. "He's going to be a preschool teacher." I said hoping that that will make Brady think highly of him. Geez,he's like my dad except that my dad isn't this strict.
"You mean primary school teacher." They both corrected me.
"Yeah, yeah. I get it,your sidewalk is pathway." I stuck my tongue out at them.
"Aww,he's teaching little kids." Marie swooned.
"He doesn't seem dangerous. For now though." Said Brady.
"I don't know if I'm seeing him again,okay? It's unlikely too."
A massive amount of silence filled the air like haze as I said my last remark like last time. Why do I always have to upset people? I closed my eyes, sighing. I took one of Marie's hands and one of Brady's in mine. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring it up again inconspicuously."
"It's okay,Julia. You still have two months." Marie said while Brady smiled half sad. Suddenly,a change of mood hit her and she was all happy."Besides,we'll still have time to go shopping together. And do our nails, and go for a spa and go for new hairdos and-"
Brady cut her off, "Hello, only guy here?"
"Oh alright,we can go to the movies one last time together,go ice skating." Marie suggested. That made me smile.
"Stop making me cry. I still have two more months left. I'm saving my tears for when I need it." I said wiping away a tear that slipped down my cheek. "One tear down,a trillion more to go." Brady chuckled lightly.
"You never stopped making jokes even in a time like this, haven't you?" He said.
"I didn't realize I was making a joke." Oblivious to the fact.
"One shrimp fried rice,dumplings...." The waitress came and trailed on and on with our order as she placed them down on the table. We said our thank you's and began digging in.
"Are you going to tell him?"
"Who said I was going to see him again?" I smiled taking another bite of my fried rice.
"Come on,you can't seriously leave him hanging. He's obviously hooked on you already." Brady licked his lips as he munched on some dumplings.
"What are you saying here?"
"I'm saying that you should tell him that you're not gonna be here for much longer before things get serious."
Why does he think we're being serious? I literally met the guy yesterday. We met in a coffee shop,I said goodbye, met him later that night,he was drunk,I decided to help him home, stayed at his place (Which was really stupid),and left my number for him (Which was really stupid),then went for coffee this morning, then spent the whole afternoon with him. Not that serious, right? Oh boy.
