Chapter 1, Oh Calamity

I always thought that I would never have a serious girlfriend. I thought I would just sleep around and never worry about having to be we with one person forever. Just me and my band mates.

Then I met you. You changed me, a lot.

But now we're miles apart in our own worlds.

I mean, we're getting older by the second and our lives are changing by the minute. Now, I feel like you just try to forget I ever even existed and our relationship never ever happened. God, why did we ever even start dating if we knew were never going to last.

I hate thinking that, but it's true. Why did I ever think it would work with you. I had never had a serious relationship that lasted more than a few weeks before you.

I mean we lasted for awhile but then were over.

It is sad we pretend we do not know each other, even worse that you never tried to continue. I tried, I freaking tried so hard, but no I couldn't do anything because you were gone. Far, far gone. We just stopped, and that was the end. I left with some of my stuff and never came back.

I still have a key to the apartment. I kept it just for that sliver of hope that we could work it out. That we would be back together soon. I don't think you ever changed the locks, probably not. Honestly I think you still have that sliver of hope too. Hope that one day I would just happen to come home so you leave the locks alone so my key still works.

Would we honestly still keep this act of not knowing each other if we randomly saw one another one day? Even if it was years from now would we just turn around and walk the other way. Would you say "hi." Or just keep walking. I hope you would not, I really do deep down.

I know I would not continue this act if I could get you to talk to me, but I would never do that to you. I would never put you in that situation. Because I still love you.
